Non-Bookish News:

It was CRAZY cold here this week. Schools were closing it was THAT cold (Not my school because I teach high school and its a private school so the kids all either drive or get a ride from a parent). Its suppose to warm up this week back into the low 50’s. However, that also means its going to be muddy when the snow melts. My dogs excel and tracking in all the mud. I swear, Yoda runs through the yard making sure it hit the wet, puddle filled areas. You can see it in the path he takes he is actively heading for puddles. Jerk.

School started back on Wednesday. It was a rough week adapting back to a routine. Plus, when other schools were off because of the weather, our kids got SUPER cranky. Hopefully everyone will be back into the school routine next week and less surly. My seniors are making their final decisions regarding college so that is all very exciting for them.

I have my annual thyroid scan/check up on Thursday. I can tell my Hashimoto’s has flared up again so I am glad to have an appointment coming up. I probably need an adjustment to my meds to get me back on track again!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Lol about Yoda. there must be some dog thing that makes them do that ha ha. I’m sure it’s fun for them. 🙂

Hope you warm up soon. We’re in the deep freeze too and I’m about over it. And it is tough going back after break. ugh.

    Have a good week!

  2. Hope your check up goes good and they get your medicine situated. School hopefully resumes on Monday, but we’ll see, we have a small ice storm coming tonight. Ugh. Your new books look amazing, and I am looking forward to getting hands on Follow Me Back! I loved the first book so much! Have a great Sunday and the week ahead. And thank you for stopping by earlier. 🙂

  3. I got a copy of Blood Fury in the mail, so that was a nice surprise since I wasn’t expecting it. I got two freebie novellas on Amazon: Secret Santa Baby by Robin Covington and The Movie Star”s Red Hot Holiday Fling by Christine Glover. Hope they’re good.

Bummer about the bad weather in your area! We’re finally getting rain this next week, and while I’m not thrilled about it happening during my commute I’m glad it’s coming because we sorely need it! Your dogs are like little misbehaving children, loll! 🙂

  4. We went back this week too – it was cold, but not so cold that they closed schools. Thankfully my kids were ready to be back it seemed, as they did great and we had a good week Fingers crossed it continues this week! I hope your kids have a better week, once they aren’t the only ones having to go back! HOw exciting to have seniors picking their colleges. I hope you have a great week 🙂

  5. With the snow cyclone, the kids in this area only had 1-2 days of school last week. It’s always tough after a long break, but I think I would be a little cranky if all the other schools were closed but mine. I am interested in the new Cindi Madsen book. I loved Nailed It and want to read more of her books. Good luck getting back into the routine, and I hope your doctor’s visit goes well.

  6. I hope your appointment on Thursday goes well. And your week at school. Hopefully the kids will have settled down some. My daughter goes back to school after her break tomorrow and she’s looking forward to it. More so to see her friends, I think. 🙂 Have a great week!

  7. What is it with dogs and going for the mud! Mine does that, too 🙂 And 50’s coming soon! Wow, now that’s a warm up!! And we went back to school the same day you guys did and yep, it was a hard adjustment… blech!!!

I’m sorry about the thyroid acting up. Glad you had a Dr. appt scheduled and he can get you all fixed up!!!! Feel better!!!

  8. Whew what a recap here!!! We do have some great release and I hope you enjoy Crashed, I think the series is on the audible’s romance package and I am going to grab up book one next. I do love racer romances.

Its crazy that its pretty cold most places, while here in Utah is warm like 40 degrees, which is so odd for January. But I am enjoying it even though I wish the rest of the country wasn’t suffering so much from winter storms. Stay warm and safe. 🙂

  9. I love K. Bromberg’s Driven series – they’re probably my favorite books of hers! I grabbed a few new releases this week, but nothing was really catching my eye for freebies 🙁

Glad the weather is warming up for you! Yesterday was our first day above zero since Christmas. I’m happy our dog can go outside now, but not so happy that the snow and mud is going to be making an appearance in our house as well now 🙂

    Happy reading, Samantha!

  10. I imagine coming back from a break is always trying. And made worse when the kids are annoyed that they’re back at school when other kids are off. Hopefully this week is much better and everyone is settling back into a routine. I hope your appointment goes well!

  11. Hope you and your family are well again and that your daily routine has come back. I know how difficult it sometimes can be when things change too much. Hopy you´ll enjoy your books. Thanks for sharing.

    Best wishes
