Welcome to this week’s Sunday Post. This feature is brought to you by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, so swing by after you are done here and get the full list of participants!

  •   Half Truths by Rachel Brownell
  •   Not My Romeo by Ilsa Madden Mills

Books releasing this week:

ARCs thanks to the publishers and authors:

It has been said that there is no tired like teacher tired after the first week of school. This is a true statement. My feet hurt, my head hurts (from wearing a shield all day), and I even have a sore in my ear from trying to adjust to my new hearing aids. But, it was a great first week. I really like my students and its so good to be back in middle school again (as a teacher, not a student. That was a horrible time). My coworkers have been helpful and supportive which is great too. Overall, I am feeling VERY good about where I am at right now.

I haven’t read anything in a week. I was just so drained when I got home I barely stayed awake until 8 pm. So no reading happened. Maybe this week? Hopefully my body is adjusted to being back to school (because seriously, I haven’t been in a classroom since March…). I was ahead in my ARC schedule but that lead has quickly been worn down.

Friday I had drinks after work with my friends. We celebrated my first week of teaching. I love those girls and I already miss working with them.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. So very glad your first week went so well. And yes… it is shattering! Partly it’s the nervous energy – and the fact that SO MUCH needs to get sorted out and established. Hopefully, you’ll soon hit your usual rhythm and it will settle down, now that you know you are among colleagues who are supportive and on your side – it makes SUCH a difference. I hope the aches and pains soon go away:)).

  2. Yay for your first week back. Sorry it is so exhausting. I must say when my kids officially go back and I am not looking forward to waking up early again lol.
Once the year really gets going I am sure you will get all settled in. New adventures are so fun.

Sorry about your ear, I hope it feels better soon.

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!

  3. I am so happy that that first week went well even if it was tiring samantha! I know you dreaded this with the COVID measures. Have a great week!

  4. I’m glad you had a good first week. You are so right, there is no tired like teacher tired… Especially week 1! I hope you have a great week!

  5. So glad to hear the first week went well! And also that you feel like you’re in the right place. What a relief. But no doubt you’re exhausted. I hope you settle into a routine soon and don’t have to go to bed when it’s still light out. LOL
