The French Honeymoon by Anna-Sophie Jouhanneau

The French Honeymoon has a gorgeous setting (Paris) but is a twisted story! I love the unreliabile narrator vibe this story has. Taylor is kind of (ok, totally) a voyeur. She is spying on this couple she becomes obsessed with. And she kind of (okay, totally) stalks them.

The story builds a little slowly for me. It was intriguing and really explores the actual reality of people’s life, but there isn’t much tension. Just a lot of stalking and voyeurism. You learn a LOT about the characters (obviously-stalking will lead to that), but it just builds information. Honestly, I didn’t really like any of the characters either-they all have something about them that just irked me. Then ending hits you like a freight train! I liked the ending and it really fits with the overall story, but it took a long time to get there and then felt abrupt. But, overall, this was an interesting story with a good plot twist.

One by One by Ruth Ware, The Seven by Robin Delvey, One of Our Own by Lucinda Berry…then you will probably like The French Honeymoon!
