This week’s prompt is interesting. I have never really thought about books I loved but wouldn’t read. So, I dove into my goodreads “Read” shelf and starting looking. Here is what I came up with.
Title: Everest
Author: SL Scott
Why I wouldn’t reread: this was a great book. However, its all based on ‘the feels’ and I typically don’t get the feels the second time around. You already know what’s coming, ya know? But, its still a phenomenal book and one of my best reads of 2017.
Title: The Outskirts
Author: TM Frazier
Why I wouldn’t reread: I loved this book when it first came out. Over time, however, I think my feelings have sort of faded and I’m not sure why I loved it so much.
Title: Fallen Crest Nightmare
Author: Tijan
Why I wouldn’t reread: This was a short story included in an anthology. I loved it but its totally based on you being surprised by the events. Having read it already, I know what the twist is, and it sort of makes the story less interesting the second time around.
Title: Menace and Grievous
Author: JM Darhower
Why I wouldn’t reread: This duet was one I listened to and honestly, I think it was the fabulous narrators that made it so much more enjoyable for me. The story is great-its dark and a bit twisty; just not something I would want to read/listen to again.
Title: Salvaged
Author: Jay Crownover
Why I wouldn’t reread: I loved that Poppy finally got her HEA. Seriously, no one deserved it more. But I feel good with the way it was all wrapped up and while I loved it, I don’t have any desire to reread.
Title: The Player/The Catch
Author: K. Bromberg
Why I wouldn’t reread: This is another one that is based on a twist. Once you know it, rereading is less exciting since you know how it all pans out. But, man, it was SO GOOD the first time.
Title: Embody
Author: SE Hall
Why I wouldn’t reread: Another book with the feels. This is a sort of sappy love story that is based entirely on the romance. While totally enjoyable, I am not sure it would have the same impact in a reread. I think part of me is afraid to try to reread books that fall into this category because I won’t like them as much and it will tarnish the good memory I have!
Title: Virtue Falls Series
Author: Christina Dodd
Why I wouldn’t reread: These books were great but once you know who the bad guy is, the tension is kind of gone and I don’t think I would enjoy it as much.
Title: The Pucked Series
Author: Helena Hunting
Why I wouldn’t reread: These books were fun, light, rom coms for the most part. But, there is only so many sexual innuendos and sex puns you can read about. I hit my limit with one read and wouldn’t go back for more.
Title: Unlawful Justice
Authors: KC Lynn and K. Langston
Why I wouldn’t reread: This book was emotional!! Its all very plausible and it was not a light or easy read. I loved it, but it isn’t one I want to revisit because its so emotionally draining!
I have not read any of the books you listed. Hmm, still I’m curious about some of them. I’ll have to make a note of them, especially the Jay Crownover and Helena Hunting books though sex puns? Maybe not.
I loved all these books! They were all 4 or 5 star reads for me so they are worth reading for sure. Pucked is just hilarious and raunchy!
I am not a re-reader. The only books I have considered re-reading, were some of the classics I had to read in high school. I feel like I am older and might see these books in a different way, but then I remember that I don’t re-read. XD
I’ve not read the books you listed, but you did a good job finding 10. I have my list up on the blog for todays question. I had to look at my goodreads list for 5 star reviews and pick.
Wow! You put some new books on my tbr, Samantha. And I don’t mind if they’re only “read once” stories. 🙂
Yay!!!!
I am not familiar with any of your books. I normally don’t have time to reread books because my tbr pile is ridiculous. If I do reread, it’s literally anything by Dannika Dark. Easier to say what I would reread than what I wouldn’t!
