She's addicted to sex. He's addicted to booze... the only way out is rock bottom.
No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway's biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups, and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.
Loren Hale's best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they've pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They've mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.
But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie. Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex.
Their real vice may be each other.
I have been a blogger for over 7 years and I have heard people rave about this series. But, I avoided it. I have a family member who suffers with addiction and I know that two addicts together is a bad idea. I wasn’t sure I could read this book and put my personal feelings and experiences to the side. So, I never read it. But, I’m in a different place in my life and I felt like I could read this book with more of an open mind.
Addicted to You is exactly the type of angsty read it sounds like. Our main characters are tacking big problems and that is present throughout the story. The chemistry between them is real but that doesn’t magically make things easier. They have to fight for everything. Let me say I am super glad I waited until the entire series was finished because the ending to this is a doozy!
If you want a messy, angsty, heartbreaking story, Addicted to You needs to be on your must read list. But, it is not an “easy” read and you will be a little broken.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles, Crash by Nicole Williams…then you will probably like Addicted to You!

Yeah I think I tried reading this a few years back and couldn’t quite get into it, I might try seeing about the audio. This also was published when this type of NA angsty mess was popular too.
Great review and loved your thoughts on this one.
I put this one off as well, Samantha, but for different reasons. I have read the first 2 in the series at this point. I will say that I struggled to connect with Lily and Loren but overall, I felt the depiction of them felt realistic. And I enjoyed the 2nd book. Some day I’ll get around to finishing the series. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. I’m happy their story worked out for you for the most part. 🙂
I have such a serious love for this series. I first read Addicted to You back in 2014 and I was hooked. Lily and Lo were so deep in their addictions in this one. It was hard to be a bystander and watch. It was definitely messy. And angsty. Over the years I went on to read all the Addicted and Calloway Sister books and all the characters became so real to me. I’m convinced that if I ever got to Philadelphia I will run into them.
