When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate - and prized - parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Christian Louboutins.
Brent has never let the loss of his leg in a childhood accident affect his ability to lead a fulfilling life. He sets high goals–and then he reaches them.
And now he has his sights set on Kennedy.**When Kennedy looks at Brent Mason, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell.
She’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore - she’s a DC prosecutor with a long winning streak behind her. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case and she thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.
But things aren’t exactly working out that way.
Because every fiery exchange has her wondering if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. Each argument and objection only makes him want her more. In the end, Brent and Kennedy may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.
APPEALED is a sexy, humorous romance about first crushes, second chances and the final verdict of the heart.
Appealed is going to go down as one of my all time favorite books…EVER. Appealed will be a book I reread when I am in a book funk. Appealed will be that book I tell everyone about when they ask “What’s your favorite book?”. So, where do I even begin? First, I tried to read Tangled before. I just couldn’t get into it and I haven’t read an Emma Chase book since. BAD DECISION! The book is told entirely from Brent’s POV. Normally, I am not a fan of only getting the book from the guys POV but it was perfect. You see very quickly that Brent is going to fight for Kennedy and that is super hot. LIKE SERIOUSLY HOT. The more I think about him, the more I swoon.
Kennedy is such a relatable character. She was awkward and not girlish in high school. Because of this, she was bullied by your typical mean girls. You know exactly who I am talking about-everyone knows one. This shaped her interactions with people and I really related to her. I totally understood her reactions even though you don’t get the story from her POV. It actually did make me cry a little. Ok, I cried for her a lot actually. For as much as I loved Brent, Kennedy is one of my favorite heroines. She’s smart but vulnerable. Its amazing.
My Favorite quotes from Appealed:
-It’s official: I’m a fucking idiot. Of all the wrong things I could’ve said, that’s the wrongest of them all.
-…Because Smart Kid + Shitty Parents = Trouble.
As a teacher, I can tell you how true this can be!
-Because to him, money and connections are like Fight Club-the first rule of having them is you don’t talk about them.
-“What’d you do to your face?”
“I grew a beard.”
“Well ungrow it. It looks like a vagina from a 1970’s porn film”
Hahahahaha! Seriously, thats just funny!
-I wanted to break down her doors, climb her ivory tower. I want to slay all her fucking dragons.
-All these years, Kennedy’s never let anyone else in. She has her reasons, but the bottom line is, there hasn’t been any guy who’s gotten past her fire-breathing dragon. And what if…what if the reason I’ve never let myself fall in love with a woman is because I didn’t have anything to give? Because I’d already given my heart to her when we were seventeen years old? And all these years…I’ve just been waiting for her to come back to me with it.
-Kennedy is looking at me like I’m the prince that just woke her with a kiss, found her glass slipper, took her on a flying carpet ride, and defeated the evil witch.
Sigh. Did I mention how much I loved Brent? Seriously, read this book. These quotes are only a small part of the awesomeness that is Brent!

The Legal Affairs series by Sawyer Bennett, The Beautiful Series by Christina Lauren, The Sex, Love, and Stiletto series by Lauren Layne…then you will probably like Appealed.
By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother who resides in a small town in New Jersey. By night she is a keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to bring her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.
Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.
