An Atria Stephanie Plum returns to hunt down a master cyber-criminal operating out of Trenton in the 28th book in the wildly popular series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich.
When Stephanie Plum is woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of footsteps in her apartment, she wishes she didn’t keep her gun in the cookie jar in her kitchen. And when she finds out the intruder is fellow apprehension agent Diesel, six feet of hard muscle and bad attitude who she hasn’t seen in more than two years, she still thinks the gun might come in handy.
Turns out Diesel and Stephanie are on the trail of the same fugitive: Oswald Wednesday, an international computer hacker as brilliant as he is ruthless. Stephanie may not be the most technologically savvy sleuth, but she more than makes up for that with her dogged determination, her understanding of human nature, and her willingness to do just about anything to bring a fugitive to justice. Unsure if Diesel is her partner or her competition in this case, she’ll need to watch her back every step of the way as she sets the stage to draw Wednesday out from behind his computer and into the real world.Book. Atria Books has a great book for every reader.
Game On is book 2 million in the Stephanie Plum series (ok, not 2 million, but we are in the 20’s). Stephanie and Lulu are up to their usual shenanigans, except their roles are a bit flipped. It’s Lulu who has the bad luck in this book. Not that bad things don’t happen to Stephanie too, but Lulu is quite unlucky in this one!
Game on brings the return of Diesel as well! Diesel and his “unique” family are interesting and I always thought of Diesel as the surfer boy version of Ranger, which is fun.
Honestly, these books have become formulaic, but I enjoy the formula. Stephanie destroys a car, gets hit on by other men, and exasperates her currently on again boyfriend. Plus, they meet some unique people (in Game On, its a hacker group called the Baked Potatoes)! The romance reader in me is still frustrated that after 2 million books, the romance has progressed 0 steps. But, I can put that aside and appreciate that I am not reading romance with this series.
- POV: 1st
- Tears: no
- Series/Standalone: series (you could hop in on this one because each book handles a different case, but you wouldn’t have the same appreciation for the characters
- Cliffhanger: View Spoiler »
light fiction like Christina Lauren, Elle Cosimano, Jana Deleon…then you will probably like Game On!
haha some series it does seem like there a million of them right? Its probably why I haven’t read this author yet haha
