What I meant to do in Vegas: Let my hair down for once and celebrate winning a medal at my first women’s hockey all-stars competition.
What I actually did: Got senior prom drunk and woke up married to Brooklyn’s star winger, the great Neil Drake.
He’s the heir to a billion dollars, and I barely survived my childhood. Our friendship is based strictly only on hockey, takeout food and smack talk.
And now holy matrimony. Although we both know it can’t last, especially once his evil family gets wind of our Vegas shenanigans…
Contains: Meddling teammates, meddling parents, ugly jewelry and a pretend-kiss that nearly sets the world on fire.

Shenanigans continues the Brooklyn Bruisers stories, but now we are also getting heroines from the female hockey team, The Bombshells. Neil is a trust fund kid who is worth billions and Charli is a scrapper who barely made it out of her childhood alive. They are friends until Vegas…

I love a “oops we’re married” trope and Shenanigans delivers. Neil doesn’t want to get a quickie annulment though, which then turns in to a bit of a “fake relationship” type trope which I also love. These two are friends so its also a friends to lovers story. Seriously, this book packs it all! Neil being from an “old money” family means most of his family is straight up awful. They are snobby and condescending. Its pretty remarkable that Neil is such a great guy despite having all that family money!

The characters were great! I really liked Neil more than I thought I would. Charli takes some time to warm up to because she has a tough shell that a turtle would be proud of! But, they are great together and I loved their story!

  1. I am thrilled to see that this one worked out so well for you Samantha. I am so curious about it. Sometimes great heroines are hidden underneath the tough shell.

    Great review.
