Once upon a time there were two cousins:one golden like the sun,one dark like midnight,one a protector,one a predator,one a Woodsmanandone a Wolf…both owning equal,but different,parts of a little girl’s heart.
In this modern retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood," the woodsman and the wolf are cousins, and Little Red is the girl with whom they both fall in love.
Beautiful Ginger McHuid, daughter of Kentucky's premiere horse breeder, grows up on her family farm, best friends with Cain Wolfram, the son of her father's Stallion Manager, and Cain's cousin, Josiah Woodman, son of a local banker. Throughout their happy childhood, the three are inseparable friends, but as they mature into adults, complicated feelings threaten to destroy their long history of friendship and love.

You will want to have tissues on hand for Ginger’s Heart. Lots of tissues. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…
I was hesitant at first to grab Ginger’s Heart. Its a love triangle. I loathe love triangles. It is my least favorite trope right next to main character death. In this book, you get both. I won’t tell you which character dies but you need to know going into the book, its gonna happen. So, the story is the love triangle between Ginger, Woodsman, and Cain. From the first few pages, I knew whose corner I would be in. I knew that no matter who I picked, I was going to be unhappy about it. You just know going in this isn’t going to be a cut and dry love triangle. This book just kept tearing my heart out. It was excruciating and honestly, I thought about just skipping to the end and saving myself the pain.
So, full disclosure? Thats what I did. Yes, I said it: I skipped to the end. I needed to know that things would be okay. Once I was sure I would end up with a broken heart at the end of the book, I went back and read it all. Judge me if you want; I would do it again!
If you want angsty, love triangle drama that will make you cry repeatedly, grab Ginger’s Heart. Katy’s writing has always worked for me. She has a beautiful way with words and I can’t even hate her for putting me through the pain of this book. As I said, I hate love triangles, but I love Katy Regnery so I gave it a shot. It was touch and go there for awhile, but I’m glad I read the book. Ginger’s Heart is one of those books that will stick with you, deep in your heart, long after you read it.
