Going from a professional baseball player to a SWAT officer should’ve been seamless. Should have been.

But it wasn’t.

All it took was one single calendar shoot for word to spread that Nathan Cox was not only no longer playing professional baseball, but he was also the man behind saving the life of Reggie Morton, the City of Kilgore’s princess.
***
Reggie didn’t know that by agreeing to provide the expertise and the know-how for the Police Officer’s Ball that she would be required to actually attend the function.

What she also didn’t expect was needing to be saved—again—by the same man that had saved her life a year ago when she hosted her debut event.

This time in a not-nearly-as-spectacular way. The moment she falls into his arms like a modern-day Cinderella and takes him in in all his three-piece suited glory, she realizes that she’s been fighting the impossible.

Nathan Cox owns her. Body and soul.

Officially Over It is the story of Nathan, SWAT team member and former baseball star, and Reggie, his childhood rival/wife. Yep, his wife. Marriage of Convenience trope goodness!

Nathan was a tougher character for me to warm to. He had a horrid ex, and for some inexplicable reason, he was kind to her far longer than he should have been. Meanwhile, he is harsh and dismissive with Reggie (to cover up his feelings…ugh, just tell her). Reggie is a great heroine though-she is smart and sassy. Her job as a NICU nurse is fascinating and I loved seeing a strong woman succeed in her career.

Nathan and Reggie have denied their feelings and even kept their marriage a secret. But, they are both faced with an even bigger secret that puts them to a huge relationship test. Reggie is the type of girl who is there for Nathan simply because he is her friend. She puts aside her feelings to support him when she thinks he still views the marriage as a scam. It really shows her selflessness.

If you like the rivals in love, marriage of convenience tropes, Officially Over It is a great pick! Also, I think this book, more than any others in the series, really stands alone well, so you could read Officially Over It and not feel like you missed something!
