Non-Bookish News:

Thursday was Thanksgiving here in the USA. My husband and I went up to my parents house and we all ate way too much food! Even though I don’t live that far from my parents, I don’t see them that often so its always good to hang with them! My mom made almost everything gluten free too! She even made a chocolate chip cheesecake from scratch. It was all delicious! I am really lucky to have a family who deals with my food issues πŸ™‚

Sadly, I have a terrible cold. It started Wednesday and it will not go away (although it is a bit better today). I even managed to pass it to one of my dogs! Her nose is all drippy and she is snoring like a freight train.

Did anyone do any Black Friday shopping? Not me-I went out one year a long time ago and never again! I did check online for deals though! I didn’t really see anything that caught my attention though. Maybe Cyber Monday will be better (not that I need to spend any money!!)

When we had a Nintendo, I loved the game Animal Crossing. It is super simplistic and I loved that about it. I just found out there is now an app for your phone. So, I have been enjoying that the past few days. I don’t play video games often anymore, but I always loved this game. I also loved Harvest Moon, but I haven’t found a way to play that without a game system. Sigh…

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. It sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving πŸ™‚ I hope your cold (and your pup’s) goes away soon!

Black Friday wasn’t really a thing here until recently (since we don’t have Thanksgiving), and more and more stores are using it to lure in people pre-Christmas. I don’t venture to the mall very often, but I did take advantage of a few local online deals. Just my way of keeping Australia Post busy!

    Have a great week ahead!

  2. I never go out for Black Friday because people are CRAZY!! I went once years ago and will never do it again. Its just not worth all the chaos that comes with it. So I just shop online instead and relax at home. Hope you enjoy Thanksgiving and had a wonderful weekend. Crazy Ohio and michigan game right? So you are probably happy right now….good for Ohio to do good even after their QB got injured.

I used to play video games but I was never crazy about them. Normally it was the lego adventure games and mario that I liked but now I get bored quickly so I don’t play them for very long.

    Happy Sunday.

    • Yes, that OSU Michigan game was exactly what I wanted to see happen!! But, we have won for like the past 20 years so πŸ˜‰
People are crazy! I don’t need anything that badly to put up with that level of crazy!

  3. I avoid Black Friday shopping like the plague! I didn’t find anything online, either. Sounds like a good week for you…except for the cold. Hope you feel better soon, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. Bummer about the cold! We actually go Black Friday shopping on occasion – most of my family is from out of town and have to work Black Friday, so they vacate our house by 4:00. We get a litle stir-crazy and need some exercise by 7 so end-up “mall walking” and occasionally pick up a few small gifts. Thanksgiving Evening isn’t too bad if you wait until a few hours after the stores open, but I do feel bad for the people working.

I downloaded the new Animal Crossing last night and excited to jump into it! I wasn’t really into video games either, but loved that one as well πŸ™‚ Hope you have a great week!

  5. Oh my gosh that video is awesome lol.

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving, I love the holiday. Something about food and spending time w/ family. Sorry to hear about the cold though, ugh- hope you feel better soon!

I avoided Black Friday like the plague ha ha!

  6. Hope you are feeling better, and a gold star for your mom. That is really nice of her to make the gluten free effort. I know it’s tricky getting the food to taste good, so she is just awesome. I was obsessed with Animal Crossing. I captured/caught/collected everything int he Wii and DS version. I haven’t checked out the new one, because I will become addicted again.

  7. Happy you had such a good Thanksgiving with family! That cheesecake sounds divine. I rarely eat sweets (no sweet tooth) but I make an exception for cheesecake. My sisters mother-in-law came to my house for T-giving and brought a boxed cheesecake with different flavored slices. I was in heaven. LOL Sorry to hear about the cold. Ugh. Hope you’re starting to feel better by now. No Black Friday shopping here. I stayed home and was a little hermit and loved it. πŸ™‚
