My Goodreads Year in Review!!

Thanks for all the kind words of support last week. This week was a little better thankfully! My husband got the car stuff handled so I now have a car with legal plates and tags! Work is still really stressful, but what can you do? Gotta tough it up! My dad is doing well thankfully!

Thursday, we had to take one of our dogs to the vet. When we leave the house, we shut the dogs in our mudroom so they can’t get into anything. Well, when my husband left, he only shut 1 dog in mudroom, leaving the other to have free range in the house. She had quite the fun time! 3 snickers bars, 3 three musketeers bars, a couple of reese’s cups, some gluten free chocolate mint cookies, 4 pouches of instant mashed potatoes, and for fun, she tore open a bag of ground coffee. She also managed to get a jar of peanuts open. She didn’t eat them, but she did spread them all over our bed! She made sure to take parts of her mess into all 3 bedrooms so the mess wasn’t just contained to the kitchen. So, with all that chocolate, we had to take her to the vet to induce vomiting so she wouldn’t get sick.  $120 later, Calleigh is fine and we have a humorous story to tell. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. In our old house she managed to open the gate and get into the kitchen. She knocked over the trash can and carried pieces of trash everywhere!

I have been rewatching Friends on Netflix! I love it! So good! Other than that, I haven’t watch much tv. Maybe I will watch something else over Christmas break. My husband has been watching The Walking Dead and he really likes it. I am not that impressed. In fact, he was not happy with my color commentary throughout one episode and encouraged me to go back to my book. Mission Accomplished!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

    • Yes, the next day at work everyone thought it was hilarious. Like I said, this wasn’t her first ‘incident’ like this, so my coworkers are quite used to my dog stories!

  1. I am glad things are going better and the car situation is sorted out and your dad is doing well. I wish I could give you a big hug. I am so glad Calleigh is okay! Oh my gosh! It is quite a funny story when all is said and done, but what a scare too!

LOL My husband is like you–unimpressed with The Walking Dead. I usually watch it when no one is home but me. 🙂

I hope you have a great week, Samantha. Happy Christmas!

  2. haha the way you describe your relationship with your hubs sounds hilarious. I am not big into Walking Dead either, lately I have been binge watching on Blue Bloods. And Friends is a fantastic show, I can always rely on it to give me some good laughs.

  3. Glad your dad is doing better. And sorry to hear about your dog! It is a humorous story except for the vet part- poor dog. I wonder if his stomach was hurting some after all that candy and instant potatoes? Wow! Lol about The Walking Dead- yeah it’s not for everybody! I like it but I know people who don’t.

    Have a great holiday!

    • I am sure her stomach had to hurt! I mean, those potato flakes would expand for sure!! And she is only 50 lbs, so 6 candy bars and 4 packages of potato flakes is a LOT! She did puke up a lot too though…
Yeah, TWD just didn’t work for me. I couldn’t really get into any of the characters. I found myself not really caring if they lived or not!

  4. It’s wonderful to here things are better now. Scary that your dog ate that much chocolate and so glad everything turned out well at the vets. I’m lucky that my dog doesn’t even like it.
My son and I are both fans of The Walking dead and I was happy that they gave us a hopeful wrap up while we wait for February.

    Have a lovely holiday.

    My Sunday Post

    • Calleigh is super food motivated!! She loves it all! It made training easier because she would do anything for a treat, but that dog gets into everything! She will be the death of me I’m sure! I will worry myself into an early grave!

    • Oh she had a blast! I freaked out today when I came home because she is usually sitting in the window waiting. I didn’t see her and assumed the worst! However, she was just laying on the floor wrestling with our other dog. Scared me half to death!

  5. Oh my! I’m so glad you’re dog is alright. My doggie once broke into a small bag of cat food and ate it all! She got sick but thankfully no long term damage. It’s scary at the time of happening, but it does become a funny story after some time. LOL Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen

  6. Glad to hear about you dad! OMG I remember when my dog used to do that! Poor thing I hope she feels better [and learned the lesson!] I would have love to watcher though 🙂
I sent you a message in GR 🙂
