Non-Bookish News:
I had a pretty good week at work this week. I had my evaluation with my principal which is always stressful. As a teacher, I always want to be an A student. However, our principal typically scores everyone at ‘meets expectation’ which is standard (and totally fine) with a few areas above expectation or below. I had nothing below expectation thankfully, so I was happy with it overall. And the 2 areas he mentioned as areas I could improve were both areas I totally agreed with. So, overall, I feel pretty good about it and I am glad its over.
My husband has spent the weekend camping with friends so its just been me and the dogs Friday night through Sunday evening. I have resorted to talking to the dogs. Frequently. Thankfully, I am a pretty independent person and don’t mind being on my own. However, I will be glad when he is home! Also, I am totally obsessed with crime documentaries and the like, so my imagine runs wild every time I hear a noise or the dogs bark at something!
Otherwise, I had a pretty boring week and I am thrilled about that. It got a little colder this week finally but still no snow. Seriously, one HUGE perk of teaching is snow days and I would really welcome one!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Glad your teachers Eval went so well, it’s nice to not have that stress on your shoulders now.
I love a quiet weekend without anyone, its very rare for me but I totally would be talking to the animals too. I do that even when everyone is home! lol
I hope you have am awesome week, Samantha! Happy Reading! ox
You are doing great on your challenges so far! Glad your evaluation with the principal went well. I can totally see how that would be stressful. I always get worked up about work reviews and I’m almost always just fine. I’m just an anxious person. lol!
Hope you enjoy all of your new books and you have a great week!
When my kids were younger the belonged to Indian Guides a father-child group and once a month they went camping. Best read-a-thon weekends EVER! LOL You are rocking the challenges! Have an awesome week and congrats on the eval!
Sometimes boring weeks are good. And glad your eval went well- those are always stressful. Not much snow here all week either until the end, when we got enough to make everythnig white.
Love that cover of At Close Range!
Lovely book haul. You are doing well on your challenges.
Doing great on your challenges. Looking at those reads, I can see why:) I talk to my animals all the time. LOL Scary to imagine what they might say back. LOL
You are doing great with your challenges! Sounds like ou evaluation went well which is good. I was always happy to get those over with. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
I live alone so am very accustomed to talking to myself!!!
I’m glad your work evaluation went well and if you agree with some of the suggestions for improvement, that’s even better!!!
It looks like you had an awesome reading month! I hope the month of February is as fruitful 🙂
You are doing great in your challenges! Time alone is nice but unfortunately it doesn’t happen often enough for me lol. My imagination would go wild too so it’s good you had company and protection. I hope you have a great week!
Sounds like your evaluation went great since you didn’t get anything below expectations! And psh, you’re totally allowed to talk to animals, especially if no one else is around 😉
Ha ha – I always chat to the animals… Even in company ? oh well.
Well done on ‘meeting expectations’ and not getting any unders! It sounds like that’s about as good as you can hope for!
January has been a busy busy month for you and it looks like your challenges are going well.
I hope you have an awesome week this week and enjoy the new haul!
Where did the hubs go camping?! I used to LOVE camping and rock climbing right down from you in Red River Gorge down in Kentucky. Oh, I miss doing that 🙁 Isn’t it kind of nice to have the house to yourself to pamper yourself, though. Paint your nails, do a face mask?
So many great books! I hope you enjoy Crave Me – I floundered on getting that one… I might still, I don’t know…
Have a great week and Congratulations on your awesome review!!!
He just went to a small lake nearby. Not too far. I do like having so much time alone-I am very introverted so having the time to myself is actually nice. I can stay in my PJs and not be judged!
I do not enjoy evaluations even if I am the one doing the evaluating. I did my first evaluations as a supervisor last year and I followed advice from a fellow supervisor and was a little stricter in evaluating than I should have been. I guess I’ve learned a lesson for this year’s evaluations. Glad your evaluation went well.
I hate snow but wouldn’t mind a snow day either. I don’t get as many as teachers since I work in a public library but my boss is good about closing when the weather is bad.
I’m glad your evaluation went well, and that you agree with the part where you can improve. That means that your self-evaluation is good, and that the principal was fair, right?
