Well, I have an internship for next year! The interview went well and they offered me the job. Whew! Huge load off!

The stomach bug has been making its rounds at school. Friday I had a fever and wasn’t feeling great so I stayed home. Good thing because by 11 am I was in stomach bug hell!

We start state testing on Monday. I really hate it for so many reasons. Its long (2 hours per day times 6 days), its overwhelming for kids, we don’t get the scores back until the summer when the kids are gone for the year. I just wish people in charge of education were actually educators because no one in education thinks these tests are a good way to measure student progress.

My college classes started back this week! So far, it hasn’t been too much so fingers crossed!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Congrats on the internship…boo for the stomach bug.
I hate state testing. I tell my kids all the time to just do their best and not to stress. I could think of a million other things they could be doing if the state testing was stopped.

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!

  2. Congratulations on the internship!!! And school policy is also decided by people in our government who never worked as teachers or educators!
