What a week! I started back to school this week. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were in service days, so meetings, paperwork, meetings, and meetings. I was pulled in a million directions and felt like I didn’t get much accomplished. Then Thursday the students returned. I spent my morning helping kiddos get to where they needed to be, providing support where necessary, and then trying to get myself organized and together. Friday was just mess. I can’t even explain it all, but it was so stressful and frustrating. I was glad it was the last day before the weekend because I needed to just walk away for a bit.

We decided to try letting the dogs stay in the den during the day instead of in their crates. Calleigh has been doing this since she was about 2. Ranger used to stay out of his crate in the den, but he is more comfortable in his crate. Sammy and Dean tried out of their crates for a couple weeks last year and that ended quickly. They were still too young and not ready. So, we tried again this week and so far so good!! I was so pleased. I’m hopeful we can keep doing this. I hate having them in their crates all day.

Work, dogs, and sleep pretty much dominated my week. I cannot get into a book. I tried 7 different books this week and nothing worked for me. I think its stress. Also, I keep getting tiny cuts on my hands and I have no idea how its happening. I don’t notice them until I wash my hands or touch the cut. But, they HURT because its your hand and you use it all day. Hopefully I can figure out what I’m doing and stop it.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

It’s always good to hear the beginning of the year is off to a good start. I think it’s foreshadowing for the rest of the year. Good luck with the dogs. That’s a lot of dogs, but it sounds like they do well together.

  2. It’s a big adjustment after the time off work. Take care of yourself and do what you can. We are doing a similar thing with Lulu if we are only gone a couple hours to a medical appt allowing her out of the crate. With four of them that’s a lot. I hope things settle in for you in the coming week. When I’m stressed I need to read mysteries with certain solutions, solved cases. I’m reading a lot of mysteries in this election year.

  3. It is so frustrating when all you have is meetings and no time to actually get ready at the back to school days. I had the day where I was so frustrated happen today after the 9th graders left from their half day. I have wanted to read, but had no time, or was just exhausted when I got home and couldn’t concentrate or had to just go to bed. Here’s hoping it is a better week for both of us!
