- Who knows! I don’t have anything scheduled for this week!
It was a long week. Thursday was parent teacher conferences, which means a 12 hour day. Friday, I officially turned in my resignation, effective at the end of the school year. I promptly avoided all phone calls from everyone and left. I am a chicken and hate awkward conversations. But, the offer from the new job was too good to pass up: 20 days less work, $3,000 sign on bonus (continuing for 3 years), and close to home.
Thanks to everyone who expressed support for my dad. He is hanging in there. He is pretty determined to not let this change his life much, but it is a huge adjustment for him and my mom.
It was 70 degrees here on Thursday! For Ohio in February, that is unheard of. It is also killing my chances of a snow day! We also had 60+ mph winds. Today the high is 42, but then next week we are back into the 60s. Its been the weirdest winter ever.

Congratulations on the new job and being able to turn in your resignation! I know how good that must have felt. We have parent teacher conferences this week, Thursday for about 10 hours, and then the rest are supposed to be WEdnesday on our early release day for like 4 hours. It’s two days I have to have someone else go let my dogs out because I don’t live close enough to run home on my dinner break during conferences anymore. I interviewed for a new job a week or so ago. It would have been perfect and I thought it went well. But then I didn’t get the call to be hired. Which when I sent my thank you email I kind of get the impression I wasn’t getting it just from the tone of the email. I’m disappointed in that it would have been so much closer to home, and it was middle school, which I really want to be a middle school librarian before I retire since that was what made me want to be a librarian in the first place. It would have been a paycut, but I’d have taken it. Oh well. Hope you have a nice week!

I would have been tempted to do the same after handing in my notice. Really the fall out from someone leaving is the responsibility of your manager and you can just relax knowing you’ve got a better job coming for the new school year to look forward to. Thinking of you and your family, hopefully your dad is still doing well and adjusting to his new way of life.
