So, I had an entire week of snow days. The weather has been relentless. Also, I teach in a very rural district that is 150 square miles, so getting it all cleared for busses is a challenge. The last time we had school was a week and a half ago. This week is gonna be rough.
My husband and I binged True Detective on HBO. We were hooked right away. Friday night we were up until 2 am watching. It was really nice to binge together. Often, we binge separately because we can’t agree on where to watch. I prefer watching in the bedroom because I hate all our living room furniture. He prefers the living room because he says the bed is uncomfortable. It’s been a long battle. I’m hopeful that someday we will be able to get new living room furniture. I think something oversized and with a chaise lounge would be good. I have also been contemplating moving my day bed from my office into the living room. I just need a more comfortable mattress for it!
Because I have been off work for so long, my anxiety is HIGH about going back. This is typical for me after any break. I’m trying all my calming techniques, but my brain just doesn’t want to stop ruminating about everything that could go wrong. I’m hoping today to stay busy and wear myself out so I’m less like to fixate on it when I try to go to bed. Going to sleep is the hardest when I get anxious like this. It just gets so difficult to fall asleep. So, hopefully I can manage it.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

I can’t believe your school has been closed for a week. It is tough dealing with the kids after a break. Getting them back on track can be challenging, but I believe you can do it! I always wanted a chaise lounge. I hope you can make your furniture dreams a reality. (Thanks for sharing my post!)
Wow, a week of snow days! I bet it’s going to be tough for staff and students alike to get back into the regular routine. Our previous living room set had a chaise lounge and I loved it. It was my spot. 🙂
LOL at the binge watching challenges! We have a similar problem -not where to binge but what to binge. Our tastes can be very different. Glad you enjoyed your unexpected break! i saw a meme yesterday about how the next time we get a week off work, it’d be nice to not spend it trying to stay alive (here in Dallas). It was a good laugh, but truth! I hope your anxiety relaxes a bit and you’re able to rest tonight. I know going back after a long time off can be challenging, but it will be great!
Wow you really have had the snow days I always thought they were so fun, even when I was working, although that was more challenging. I am thinking about getting Road Trip and I want to get Soulmate Equation on audio. I wish you the best sleep and a great week!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I can get a little anxious when I return to something that I have been away from for awhile too. I hope that gets better for you and things transition nicely. We had a daybed in our living room for awhile. I loved it. It was one of my favorite places to curl up and read, and it was perfect for spreading out all my planner stuff! We got the mattress from Mayfair. We ordered a super thick firm memory foam that cam in a box. I didn’t think that I could ever like such a thing, but I have to say that it turned out to be one of the most comfortable mattresses we have had.
My husband and I generally binge watch together based on his taste, while I binge whatever I want after he goes to bed. I love the layout of our lounge but it’s seen better days and we are past due for a new one, I have the chaise end of our corner lounge, while he has the adjustable armchair end.
I hope your return to school goes smoothly.
Wishing you a great reading week
Wow a week of snow days?! Hope your return goes well, Sam!
I have A Lady’s Formula for Love as well. Glad to see your 5 stars.
