Non-Bookish News:

Wednesday we had a snow day! I love snow days but I’m not gonna lie-snow in mid March is a bit of a downer. I mean, flowers were starting to bud and then they got covered with 3″ of snow! It all melted by Thursday.

But, that meant I had to work Monday/Tuesday, then Thursday/Friday. I think all weeks should be like that! Tuesday I had to proctor the ACT for my students. Its an easy day, but kind of boring! 5 hours of watching kids take a test makes for a LONG day.

Only 4 more days of work then SPRING BREAK! 3 days of normal classes with kids, 1 day of professional development and then freedom!!! I have lots of stuff to do around the house. Lots of napping and reading too. And playing with the dogs. Yeah, its gonna be a busy week!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. We had snow on Wednesday too. This messed up our snow days and my son now has half day on Friday instead of off however, if my daughter still have off I might keep him home since we had plans that day.

You are so luck you have spring break coming up, my daughters starts April 2nd. I wish I could stay home with her but we get monday since I took off. Make it a girls day out. πŸ™‚

Enjoy the break and have a great week! Happy Reading!

  2. Seems like a lot of people have been having strange weather. We had lots of rain out here which made for some difficulty trying to get my runs in. Glad you had a break in the week. I like having an unexpected day off. I’ve enjoyed the Alexa Riley books I’ve picked up so far. Short, hot and sweet! Hope you like Claimed. Enjoy your week, Samantha! πŸ™‚

  3. I wish we’d get some more snow. March is our snowiest month here in Colorado and we’ve gotten barely any. :/ I do like the idea of a 4 day work week though. πŸ˜‰ I’m traveling with my 2 youngest kids this next week – Spring Break college tours. So thanks for sharing new releases and book deals…might have to grab a few for the travel week. πŸ˜‰
Hope you have a great week, Samantha!

  4. I’m so over the snow already… It’s Spring! It needs to go away, lol. However, I’m really looking forward to a long weekend off work over Easter. That’ll be awesome. Fingers crossed the week passes quickly and you can get to enjoying your break!

  5. I think we have had more snow in March than we had all winter. Crazy! It’s tough for you teachers though, because if you made spring break plans, you are pretty much out of luck depending on your district. My sister has to take half a doc-day, because they had not listed the Thursday of break as a deduct day. I used to proctor the SAT extended time room. It was boring. I feel your pain. I hope you have an amazing break!

  6. We’ve been having lots and lots of rain. The kids are tired of being cooped up inside, so when we had the one and only nice day this week. I took my son to the park after school. We’ve got one more week, then they are out early on Friday, and then Spring Break starts. For me it’s not freedom, since the boy will be home. I’m hoping for nice weather, so we can do things outside. I did read Eight Rules for dating a Dragon. Loved it! I can’t wait for Hot and Badgered. I read the first chapter (which was all they had amiable on NetGalley) and it only made me want the book now. ^_^ Have a great week!

  7. Be A Good Girl looks great! Love that cover. And I’ve never seen eXplained by a Gangsta but that was awesome. Cracked me up. and I never have to read Lolita now lol. Although I will say that his line about the unreliable narrator making the READER unreliable was probably my favorite part. πŸ™‚ Definitely off to check out more of those videos…

    Have a great spring break!!

  8. OMG, more snow? Enough! Love the Lolita video. That guy never fails to crack me up. I know when you share those. πŸ™‚ I requested the Abbi Glines but never heard back so I guess I’ll wait on it. So envious of your upcoming spring break! Hope you make the most of it! πŸ™‚

  9. It’s always a bummer when new buds get smothered by snow or killed by frost. We usually have one more good frost in us in March, but I think we just skipped over that part. We’re in the mid 80s and 70s now.

Hope you have a good week!
