As the heir to a large pharmaceutical company, Marco Adamo had it all. But when a drunk Marco crashes his car, leaving him unharmed but his best friend in critical condition, Marco’s life is thrown off track. In an attempt to regain control over his life, Marco flees to the military and returns, ready to own up to his actions and his past.
Four years later and returned a changed man, Marco meets the beautiful Kat Delegrage. But before their relationship can blossom into something real, Kat learns that Marco was the man behind her brother’s severe injuries. Kat vows to keep Marco out of her life…until a shadowy man from her past threatens her, making her realize that she’ll need to trust Marco to protect her…and in the process, find a way to let him into her heart for good.
Trust in Me is book 3 in the Fight for Me series, but you could read it as a stand alone. Its been so long since I read the previous 2 books I had forgotten most of the plotlines! But, I did remember really liking the previous books!
This book is the story of the eldest Adamo brother, Marco. After causing a car crash that cost his best friend a limb, Marco decides a drastic life change is in order and abruptly joins the military. Now that his tour is over, he is home. But his family’s company is in shambles and his family is fractured. On his first day back in town, he has a chance meeting with Kat. Turns out these two have way more connections than they realized at first.
So, part of the story is a bit of hidden identity. Once Marco finds out Kat is an employee at Adamo, he doesn’t want to tell her his last name. But, neither realizes that her brother Ryan was the friend Marco nearly killed 4 years earlier. So, as the reader, you can see exactly where the drama will come from. Ryan still hasn’t quite made peace with his new reality so there is still a lot of animosity. Kat and Marco have great chemistry so knowing this huge secret that neither of them realized was heartbreaking. Also, Marco’s family strife is sorrowful. His mom is a shell of herself after his father’s betrayal and his nonna isn’t doing much better. Tony is stressed from having to shoulder the company alone. Marco was such a spoiled narcissist before the crash and his subsequent life change that its easy to be irked with him for his part in the current family stress.
This wasn’t my favorite of the 3 books in series, but it was solid. Marco and Kat were tragic heroes for sure.

authors like Kristen Callihan, Kendall Ryan, Heidi McLaughlin…then you will probably like Trust in Me!
I haven’t heard of this series, but it definitely sounds like the series as a whole is worth reading! The hidden identity trope is definitely one I enjoy.
I really liked it! Lots of family drama and danger!
