Then she stumbled into my life.I tried to stay away from her. Tried focusing on moving my merchandise. But one smile from Terra was like a shot to the heart. She's mine now. The Gun Runner
Scott Hildreth

This was my first Scott Hildreth book and I must say, I really enjoy his writing style. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleased! First, the H and h go on dates! And the H (Michael) has a 30 days before sex rule! So often in romance books the relationship feels rushed. Some of that is because its a book and it can’t go on forever describing how the couple gets to know each other and such. But, Hildreth totally made it work. Michael and Terra even have the relationship talk at one point. It was all very realistic to me and I didn’t realize how much I would love that. Oh, and bonus: Michael isn’t a manwhore! He explains how he doesn’t do ‘hook ups’ (he has that 30 day rule). It was really awesome to read about a man with standards and integrity!

So, Michael is a gun dealer. While his guns tend to be in the gray area between legal and illegal, he is still not 100% pure here. Terra is the daughter of a mafia boss who hides her identity from Michael (because she is tired of people asking questions and making assumptions about her father). She didn’t know what Michael did for a living either, nor that Michael and her father had ‘crossed paths’. Michael and Terra’s father have some tense interactions that lead to building tensions as both Michael and Terra are keeping secrets!

Hildreth did a great job with this book. Its intriguing, well written, and utterly enjoyable! I can’t wait for the next book!
