Juliet Lawler has got a score to settle against the drug dealers of Denver. Vance Crowe has made it his mission that Jules won't get dead while dishing out vigilante justice. Jules doesn't have time for romance; she's too busy saving the world. She enlists Zip (the gunstore owner), Heavy (an ex-PI) and Frank (a mysterious recluse) to help. The Rock Chicks get involved to provide advice and guidance. The Hot Bunch adopt Jules as one of their own. Even though Jules tries to hang onto her inner Head-Crackin' Mamma Jamma, the Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch, Jules's long-suffering Uncle Nick and Jules's friend, the rotund, African-American, Jackie-O wannabe, May, will stop at nothing to wear her down. But Jules makes some bad guys pretty angry, and one will stop at nothing to take her out.

I took a long break between Rock Chick reads. Why? I’m not sure. As soon as I got back into the Rock Chick world, I was totally hooked! Renegade was amazing for so many reasons.
Reason 1: Jules is a social worker. That is a kick ass job. Period.
Reasons 2: Vance. Crowe.
Reason 3: Jules’ emotional meltdowns are so totally believable! She is full on melting down and I wanted to shout “YES! I know exactly what you mean girl!”. Because seriously, I did know exactly what she meant. And her conversations with her cat? Hilarious!
Reason 4: Stage 10 belly flutters. Lots of them 😉
Reason 5: Lots of action, danger, humor, crazy characters, and steamy sex. First, you know all the rock chicks and hot bunch are entertaining. Plus, you add Zip, Heavy and Frank to the crazy cast of characters and you get even more laughs. Throw in the kids in the home Jules works with and you have heartbreaking and funny. Seriously, this book gives you all the feels, then follows up with tons of laughs. Then smacks you in the face with CRAZY danger. You don’t know when its coming!
So, there are my 5 reasons. I could give you a million, but the soon I stop listing them, the sooner you can start reading/listening to Renegade! Susannah Jones is the narrator and she is perfect. She doesn’t over do the male voices, she has great inflection, and she reads it just like I would have read it in my own head, ya know? It was great!
- POV: 1st (Jules only except for a small part near the end)
- Tears: No
- Trope: mortal peril, virgin
- Triggers: View Spoiler »one of Jules ‘kids’ from the house is killed, found pretty gruesomely in an alley « Hide Spoiler
- Series/Standalone: stand alone, but I would suggest you read them in order or you won’t appreciate all the fun secondary characters
- Cliffhanger: View Spoiler »no « Hide Spoiler
- HEA: View Spoiler »Duh. Its a member of the Hot Bunch. They always get the girl! « Hide Spoiler

I love the Rock Chicks, Samantha! And I have read all these books, and really loved them. So much so that I have bought all the audiobooks as well 😀 Great review, I love your list – especially the stage 10 belly-flutters – because that is so true 🙂
I so loved this book! It has totally gotten me back into the rock chicks. I am not sure why I ever stopped reading them!!
