Mother’s Day: My mom’s favorite reads!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms! I am so blessed to have an amazing mom who taught me how to be level headed, smart, and respected. Being the awesome mom she is, she is also a romance novel fan! So, I asked my mom for some of her favorite romance reads. While we might not have the same taste in romance (she doesn’t read PNR!), we have some favorite books in common. Mom moved some of her favorite books to one shelf and took a picture for me.

My mom’s all time favorite book ever is…….

Mackenzie’s Mountain by Linda Howard! I read it because the heroine is a teacher and teachers rock. I didn’t LOVE it as much as my mom, but it was pretty good. I prefer Linda’s romantic suspense books.

Now, we do have several authors/series we both love. First up….

Susan Stoker!

Not all of Stoker’s books have been a hit for both of us, but we LOVE Protecting Caroline, Rescuing Emily, Rescuing Casey, and Rescuing Rayne! In fact, I am the one who convinced my mom to read Susan Stoker so I totally take credit for this πŸ™‚

Maya Banks’ Slow Burn books and KGI series!

Again, we don’t love every MB book, but my mom especially loves Keep Me Safe and In His Keeping and on this, we totally agree! Also, I love the KGI series HARD. I’m thrilled my mom likes it too.

In Too Deep by Katie Ruggle!

George. No other explanation needed. However, we both really enjoyed this entire series and pretty much every book Ruggle has written.

Recently, my mom has convinced me I need to read Lisa Marie Rice. As you can see, there are 2 books of hers on my mom’s favorite shelf! So, I promptly bought the kindle edition of one of her books (because while my mom HAS to read a paperback, I NEED digital). In honor of mother’s day, I will read it today!

Finally, there are lots of books on my mom’s favorite shelf that I haven’t read. Christina Skye’s books have been mentioned to me a few times. I think mom might have even given me a few. They need to move up my TBR. I read a Cindy Gerard book a few years ago and liked it. I’m not sure why I didn’t read more. Again, I know I have a few of her books in my library. Mom also has some Cherry Adair books she loves, as well as a few other Linda Howard books, and a Dee Henderson book.

My goal is to read some of the books my mom adores. I think one of the best ways to really connect with someone and understand them is to experience what they love. So mom, I promise, I will read more of the Mackenzie series!

Happy Mother’s Day mom! I love you exponentially and am so happy you are my mom!
