Lia: Life has never been fair to me, but I've accepted the hand life has dealt me.Until that night.I had no idea I was sneaking into the room of Nikolai Petrov. As my eyes met his, I knew certain death would follow. I could only hope it was quick.Except, it never came.
Nikolai: My world is a web of lies and betrayal. When I became Pakhan, I knew the target on my back had grown exponentially. It's not safe for anyone around me.Especially not her. With a war on the horizon, I don't have time for distractions. So why can't I seem to let her go?
If you are looking for a hot, dangerous Bratva read, look no further than Nikolai! I am new to Cala Riley, but I am really enjoying this series. There is plenty of action that keeps you flipping pages, and a really lovely push/pull type romance.
Lia hasn’t had an easy life for the past couple years and she finally escapes her foster home just days before her 18th birthday. However, she ends up somewhere infinitely more dangerous-a Bratva leader’s bedroom! I liked the friendship between Lia and Nik’s sister-they are both protective of each other. The romance is filled with tension because Nik doesn’t think he can trust Lia, and Lia doesn’t like being bossed around. Because its a mafia romance, there is plenty of danger and intrigue to keep you guessing and I think that Riley did a good job of balancing the romance with the mafia life!
Overall, the action, the romance, it all just worked for me. Mafia romance fans will really enjoy this series and Nikolai in particular!

Ruthless Princess by Rachel Van Dyken, Bennett Mafia by Tijan, Menace by JM Darhower…then you will probably like Nikolai!
I’ve really gotten into Mafia romances as of late – thanks for CD Reiss. LOL I’ve not tried Cala Riley but I’ll add her to my list. I like that there’s enough action and romance to keep you turning the pages. Nice review, Samantha!
