Series: Art of Eros #1
Genres: Romantic Suspense
For years Marabella built a wall to protect herself from the pain. She has a secret about her dead husband that she would prefer not to share. Mac has his own secret but wants to know everything about her. As they play in paradise, someone is watching and waiting. Can Mac get to Marabella before her past catches up with her?
So, I grabbed this book because I love romantic suspense! Its my favorite genre hands down. So, I was excited to start Riveted. But oh my gosh I didn’t think I was going to stick with it. The beginning is SO CHEESY. Its not only insta-love (which I don’t mind) but its cheesy insta-love. I was rolling my eyes so hard I got a headache. No joke! But, I kept reading because I was curious about her dead husband and his shady dealings. So, kudos to Macallan for keeping me interested enough to want to keep reading when I found the characters gag worthy!
However, I couldn’t keep reading for long. Seriously, the eye rolling turned into actual groans and snorts at the book. My husband finally said “Why are you still reading it?” and I realized he was right (shhhh…don’t tell him that!). So, this book was a DNF for me at 25%. I tried. I really did.
I will note that I think the cover is gorgeous!
