It's nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I've witnessed it--I've seen the power of it--but I've also seen the pain. Because for me, I've only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I'm not sure I can because I only feel complete when I'm with her.
The only time I feel like I belong is when he's near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I'm not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I'm with him.
He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn't understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.
When I’m With You
No one writes alpha males like Harper Sloan. Seriously, if you haven’t read the Corps Security series, you really should. Serious alphas, hot scenes, and major swoon worthy action. When I’m With You is no exception.
So, Bleeding Love was my first Sloan book. I immediately went to Amazon and grabbed the Corps Security series and book 1 of the Hope Town series. I knew that when When I’m With You was released I was going to gobble it up! Needly to say, I stopped the other book I was reading and picked up this right away! Ember is a really enjoyable character. She put her self out there at 18 and told Nate she loved him. She was willing to take the risk. He shoots her down and, of course, she is crushed. But, like any good heroine, she picks herself up and moves on. Then something BIG happened that just destroyed her. Nate doesn’t even remember it which makes it even worse! The first part of the book revolves around this event and how is has shaped the interaction between Nate and Ember. I will admit, I was NOT a fan of Nate at first. He was an arrogant man whore who callously crushed Ember. Typical Sloan fashion, he has to earn the heroines love back. Its filled with some seriously swoon worthy moves from Nate that make it VERY difficult for even the reader to still hold out; Ember didn’t stand a chance. There is a bit of drama and suspense in the form of Ember’s crazy ex but overall, this is a classic second chance love story.

Harper Sloan is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Corps Security Series.
Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed ‘Estrogen Ocean’, much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero–the super alpha kind!
Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn’t take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
