With their hearts' desires on the line, nothing can stop the Montana Men
Sadie Higgins has a bad habit of bailing her brother out of trouble. But when he rustles a herd of cattle from the tough, honorable Kendrick brothers, it's Sadie who's in for it. Because the cowboy tracking them down is big, silent, and forbidding as hell.
Rory Kendrick is on the hunt to find out who's been stealing from him. When he stumbles upon Sadie in the woods, he barely recognizes the quiet, vulnerable beauty who has always taken his breath away. His mission shifts in an instant: He will do anything it takes to keep her safe . . . and make her his.
Sadie has always protected her family—no matter the price. But when Rory ropes her heart, she's forced to take a look at her life and make a dangerous choice—one that could cost, or gain, her everything.

what i think

I only recently discovered Jennifer Ryan (Everything She Wanted was my first read!). I love her style and she brings it to Stone Cold Cowboy. Jennifer does romantic suspense right! The suspense is great and the romance is the slow burn kind I enjoy so much. Rory is the cowboy next door who seems to have a permanent scowl. Sadie is the quintessential girl next door who has spent her life caring for her father and cleaning up her drug addicted brother’s mistakes. Connor, her brother, serves as the heel in this book and its such a great dynamic. Told in 3rd person, the book gives us glimpses into Connor and how his addiction is shaping his decisions. Its raw and very real. That is one think I love about Jennifer Ryan-she does REAL. However, Stone Cold Cowboy wasn’t the 5 star read that Everything She Wanted was for me. The book starts with a bang and ends with a bang, but the middle really moved slow. Rory and Sadie dance around expressing their feelings and it just drug on forever! That slowness aside, the book was everything I love from Jennifer Ryan! And she has left me DYING for the next book in the series! I can’t wait to get to know the other Kendrick brothers!

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Hunted, McBride, and The Montana Men Series. Jennifer writes romantic suspense and contemporary small-town romances.

Jennifer lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and three children. When she isn’t writing a book, she’s reading one. Her obsession with both is often revealed in the state of her home and how late dinner is to the table. When she finally leaves those fictional worlds, you’ll find her in the garden, playing in the dirt and daydreaming about people who live only in her head, until she puts them on paper.
