Non-Bookish News:

Well, the good news??? My new Kindle Oasis came early! I am so excited! Its so thin and light. And the screen seems bigger than my paperwhite. I didn’t think I would care much about the buttons to flip pages but I actually like them quite a bit. And I can put my audible books there as well! I already paired my Beats! However, I’m not sure how much I will use it for audiobooks. My phone is pretty easy and it would be much easier to carry around for sure. But, its a cool feature!

The bad news? I wrecked my car. I hit a deer. I slammed on my breaks so at least I wasn’t going too fast (didn’t deploy the airbag or anything) and the deer got up and ran off so at least it wasn’t killed. But, my car…oh its so banged up. So many dents and dings and scratches. And our deductible is so high. But, its just a car. I’m fine and the deer seemed fine and thats what matters. But man, this sucks!

But, its almost Thanksgiving which means I get a break!! We are off Wednesday-Monday (we get the Monday after Thanksgiving off and its my FAVORITE day we have off!). I am really looking forward to the time off. I plan to put up ALL the Christmas decorations and read some books! On Thanksgiving my husband and I go up to my parents house about an hour north of here. Its nice and low key which I love. Plus, my mom makes tons of food so we get to come home with leftovers! Yay!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Wow, sorry about your car, but glad you are okay.

Those books look really tempting; I’m especially curious about Edge of Darkness.

Congrats on enjoying your Oasis…I am going to check it out for the day when I need to upgrade. Hopefully not too soon, though.

Have a great holiday and vacation! Thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. That sucks that you banged up your car, but at least you and the deer are okay! I really want a copy of Linda Howard’s newest, but Edelweiss has been really bad for me lately. I keep getting declined. I guess we’ll see. I got a copy of Survive the Night as well (declined on Edelweiss but approved on Netgalley). Hope we both love it.

Have a great break and Thanksgiving! 🙂

  3. Eversong’s cover is beautiful and the book sounds so good; I’ve never read anything by this author but am tempted to pick-it-up! Really glad you’re okay after hitting that deer – that must have been terrifying. I just got my car fixed after getting rear-ended last month and dealing with insurance and the car repair companies are never fun. Hope everything goes smoothly for you. Happy Thanksgiving, Samantha – enjoy your break!

  4. The video is HILARIOUS. It made my day. Haha.. thanks for sharing, Sam.
I’m planning to buy the new Kindle maybe this week, Sam. Glad that you love it.
I hope you enjoy all your new books and have a wonderful reading week. Happy reading, my friend. ❤️?

  5. Yikes sorry to hear about your car! The important thing of course is you’re okay, but yeah deductibles suck and deer can cause so much damage. It’s amazing. Glad you’re alright.

Have a great Thanksgiving! I love long breaks off like that, they’re the best. 🙂

  6. OMG! I am so glad you are ok! Car is just a thing, I am really glad you are ok!
I love Thanksgiving, I am so looking forward to not only the long weekend but also turkey and all the stuff.

I hope you have an amazing week! Happy Reading!

    PS. LOVE your new Kindle!

  7. OMG so sorry about your car. But I’m happy you’re ok! That’s what really matters. And the deer too.
Happy week and a happy Thanksgiving break! 🙂

  8. Glad to hear you are ok and the dear got up and ran off too. It’s scary to hit something especially something big. It sucks the car is banged up, but the good news is you are ok. ^_^ I like your book haul. I need to try Katie Ruggle. I’ve got her books on my TBR and I requested at my library (got on the wait list) for Judgment Road. I’m trying oh so hard to not accept ARC’s. Especially in 2019. I want to read backlist titles and try out some new authors I’ve been meaning too and I also want to focus big time on the LIBRARY LOVE CHALLENGE which I’m hosting again next year. I do have 5 ARC’s I need to read and finally my book slump is over and I feel I can dig into those. I see you talked about my Book Tag. Thank you!!
Hope you have a wonderful week and Happy Thanksgiving.

  9. YAY for the new kindle. I really think I want one of those. Oh man about the deer. We have a ton around our house and our friend recently got hit by one on the way to our house. Same where his car was banged up but the deer and him were fine. Enjoy all your new books and have a great week!

  10. OMG! Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you are ok. Your new Oasis is a thing of beauty. Happy to hear you are enjoying it. Oooh, you have the new Play by Play book. I am addicted to that series. Can’t wait to hear what you think. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  11. Oh no….I hope you are alright…accidents are scary especially when it deals with deer because they are so unpredictable. But I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your break from teaching. You deserve it. I can’t wait to pick up Judgement Road either, because I love Feehan and I am very curious about this new series that is largely connected to two of her other series. Hope you enjoy that one. 🙂

  12. I kind of want the new Oasis myself, Samantha… even though I have the ‘old’ one already. But the new one is waterproof, right? Maybe I’ll order one to get delivered to me when I’m on vacation in the US over Christmas.
I’m sorry you wrecked your car, but very happy you weren’t hurt! It must have been really scary -deers are BIG!
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the holiday with your husband and your parents, and of course, all those leftovers you get to bring back home with you.
Thanks for sharing the link to the New Release sign-up 🙂
