This Week’s Book Haul:

Purchases thanks to my mom!!!

ARCs courtesy of the authors and publishers!

Non-Bookish News:

My mom has finally decided to get a kindle!!! This is a big step for her. She hates technology so much but now many of the books she wants to read aren’t published in paperback. So she is taking the plunge. Her kindle should arrive on Tuesday. Hopefully she enjoys it! I have already got a list of books to put on it.

So last week I had a poll to help me pick my TBR book this month. The winner was Nowhere but Here by Katie McGarry. I started the book the day it came out, like 2 years ago, but didn’t get into it much and moved on to other books. But, I am going to give it another go! Wish me luck!

Work was better this week. Less drama for sure which was a welcome relief! I don’t handle the strife well at all. I am such a worry wort that I just fixate on things! So, it was nice to have a peaceful week! It helped that Monday was a holiday and Thursday was an early dismissal day so the week was fairly short.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. How do you read so much I will never get it, green with jealousy! I’m been trying to find a good book but nothing seems to be capturing my attention this week. I got a Kindle for the same reason – even before I got into blogging and ARCs, it just takes forever for books to get published in Europe, hope she enjoys it!

    • Speed reading is my super power 🙂 I think its why I was successful in college as well! I can’t imagine having to wait for books in a foreign country! I am impatient just waiting for them in the US!

  2. Yay for your mom! I talked my mom into getting one last year and like yours she is not the most tech savvy but loves it! I don’t think she’ll ever go back to paperbacks. She takes her kindle everywhere. Good book haul this week! Hope you enjoy them 😀

  3. I hear you! I tend to overthink and get obsessed over things! ? Sooooo glad this week was of less drama for you. ? I’m the queen of having to read books more than once so I think it’s entirely possible ?Good luck with Nowhere but Here.

  4. I got my first Kindle in 2010, thanks to my daughter’s Christmas gift. I have since upgraded to a Paperwhite, which I love even more. To say that I was reluctant to go that route would be an understatement, but now I seldom buy anything but e-books.

Enjoy your books. I am curious about Dirty Money.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • I ordered my mom the paperwhite as well. Its what I have and I love it! Hopefully she will give it a shot. I’m afraid she will just let it sit there and not use it!
Dirty Money was good but I was so annoyed with Boone! I think I am the only one that felt that way though. Seems like everyone else loved him!

  5. I was resistant getting a kindle too and now I adore it, so I’m hopeful your mom will have a similar experience. I think the trick for me was that I got the paperweight, which is the most similar to reading a real book. Which model did she order?

Yay for less drama at work! I know that it always make me feel better when things calm down. We have another walkthrough coming in a couple weeks, so stress levels are still kind of high for us. Have a great week!

  6. Good luck with the book! Hopefully it works out this time around. and glad the week was better too. Strife at work is just stressful and not good for anybody!

  7. Nice to see Accidentally on Purpose on your new releases list, have your ea dit? It’s probably next on my reading list. Nice haul! Your new books look good. That’s great your mom got a kindle. My mom loves her ipad and eventually downloaded some reading apps for it. Not sure if she uses it much, but at least she can read books that way now as well. Glad to hear you had a peaceful week at work. I hope next week is a good one!

  8. Curious what you thought of The Devil’s Daughter. Been wanting to read it. And such a fabulous haul. I bet you and your mom have fun comparing purchases now that she’s getting a Kindle.

  9. I hope your mother enjoys her Kindle. I am trying to convince my mother to get an iPad or similar and do some reading on it, but I’ve not won yet!!!

  10. I think your mom will love the Kindle, especially because I find that it’s easier to read on for my eyes. I can pump up the font size as I need to and I’m not stuck putting my reading glasses on all the time. I resisted for so long and now I actually prefer it 🙂

    Have a great week!

  11. I hope you mom loves her Kindle. I thin any avid reader can enjoy them – it’s really more about the books than it is about technology.

Glad you had a decent week and yay for it being a shorter one – that always helps.

Hope you have a good week this week and good luck with your next (re?)read.

  12. I never thought I would enjoy my Kindle, but I don’t know what I would do without it! I love paperbacks, but there is something more convenient with the Kindle. I still have to convince my mom of that. LOL

Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen
