Non-Bookish News:

April 1st was my 1 year blog-iversary and I did a post about what I have learned and what I still need to figure out! I can’t believe its been a year! I still love blogging and I am super excited for year 2 on blogging journey! Fellow bloggers-what are some tips you want to share?

Today is the last day of my spring break. Sigh. I will have to start the countdown to summer!!! Tomorrow starts all the state testing for my students so we will pretty much have 2 months worth of tests. Its terrible for everyone.

Still no news on finding our new house. How do people do this?!? I can’t handle all the unknowns!!! Gah it makes me nuts (which in turn is making my husband nuts because I am such a control freak!).

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. HAPPY FIRST Blogiversary Sam! Glad to hear your are super excited for year 2 because I love your blog 🙂 I WANT MORE! 🙂
I wish I could give you tips but I’m a newbie like you. Well I do have one… social media is awesome! which you already know [damn it that goes my tip! 🙂 ] because you are in the twitter zone girl 🙂
    UGH state testing UGH
House hunting can be stressful hang in there
A THANKS FOR SHARING THAT VIDEO. I’m in love with that dad!

  2. Happy first blogiversary! I’ve been blogging off and on for years. But I’m still in my first year of book blogging. I can’t wait to see what year 2 has in store for you!

State testing is a blessing for me, but only because I’m a sub. It keeps a lot of the kids focused on something else and therefore I don’t have to be “mean” and raise my voice because they won’t listen.

Hope you have some luck finding a new house. I wish I could give you tips on that, but honestly, I’ve never owned a house. I find trying to find a new rental to be a big enough pain as it is. I can’t imagine trying to find a house that I would be own would be a nightmare.

    • Yes, state testing does usually give me time to get a few things done, but this year we are doing the testing online via the student iPads, so I am already anticipating the tech issues!!
Luckily I teach in a private school and don’t have to raise my voice often anyway! I remember teaching public school though…shiver…I suck at my mean voice so it was tough!

    • I hate moving so I want to find a place I love so I don’t have to move again! Ever!!! My husband and I moved every year for the first 7 years of our marriage! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Congrats on the 1 year blogoversary! You reviewed a lot of reviews this month and seeing the ratings, there were some good ones. The biggest tip about blogging I would give is to visit and comment on other blogs, making new friendships and interacting with others is what makes blogging fun.
I am also a control freak and I hate moving houses. We moved a few years ago and it was pretty horrible and took a lot of time and effort before we found a food house. I hope you’ll have a great week!

  4. Yay for getting through a year of blogging. Aw man, that video isn’t working. I wonder what it was. Ugh, yeah, house hunting can be a pain. Hope you find the perfect one soon. Have a great week.

  5. Happy Blogiversary!!! I’m still younger than you though, so I have no tips lol.

I’m always like knowing what’s going on and somewhat being in control, so I can definitely imagine how you’re feeling have the unknowns and things up in the air! It’s so stressful, but eventually you’ll figure it out and have a house, and then it’ll have been worth it 🙂

  6. Happy blogiversary! So fun! I love the idea of talking about what you’ve learned from blogging. I’ll have to go check out the post. I don’t envy you the house hunt. When we bought the house we’re in now I announced that we were never doing that again. I’m not moving again ever! It’s way too stressful. Like you I don’t like the unknowns and they are all unknown when it comes to buying a house! Have a great week!

  7. UGH, house hunting. Ya know, I just let my hubs handle the bank stuff, he got prequalified and we went from there. I didn’t like the bidding process but what can you do? I let my hubs deal with that, too 😉

I’m not sure which is worse: state testing or house hunting. I think State testing b/c I need to make sure we still stay on top of all our son’s regular lessons. Plus testing is sooooo boring *wah*!!!

Have a good week back 😀

  8. Happy First Blogiversary!!!

Whoa, that is an impressive list of reviews you managed to do!! Great effort 😀

I’ve moved like 10+ times so I know how annoying house hunting is. I’m so thankful I’m in a pretty permanent place right now and haven’t had to worry about it for a quite while! Good luck with it all and I hope you have a fabulous week ♥

  9. Happy blogoversary, Samantha!! I don’t have a lot of tips, really, apart from doing things your way, and just enjoying blogging! There are a lot of ‘do’s and dont’s’ out there, and some of them are confusing, to say the least. Blogging is our hobby, and we should have fun with it 🙂
Your students have TWO full months of testing? When do they have time to learn? My students have school until May 23rd, then they have two weeks of testing before school is over for the summer.
Your new books are all new to me, but they look good.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.
