Non-Bookish News:

I have a ‘soft start’ this week. I have to go in Thursday and Friday (at least for a little bit). I have to meet with the speech path to go over this year’s incoming students, meet with the incoming Freshmen on IEPs, and get files together for teachers. Bottom line: I have to go to bed before 1 am and not take a nap all day. This will be a change since I have pretty much been doing the opposite since mid June!

We got a love seat and oversized chair from my parents. We are moving them today (pray for us!). So I spent yesterday moving furniture around. OH MY GOSH I am out of shape. Holy crap!

With some help from family, I am caught up on our bills. I think I am going to go old school with bill tracking and get a notebook. I need to see everything more clearly and trying to do it all online is convenient but not helping with the big picture.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

    • I don’t know how I would survive if I didn’t get paid through the summer. Thankfully they take our annual salary and divide it into 26 pay periods so we get paid every other week, all year long. I taught year round for 4 years and actually enjoyed that-you teach for 9 weeks, then get a 3 week break, then repeat that cycle 3 more times. Its nice because you always have a break coming up soon!

  1. Good luck with the bills. I’m the same way. It’s great to have stuff online, but I need to see the big picture and so I use the google expense sheet in their google drive. Good luck with returning to school. At least it’s not starting yet, but you still have to do the pre stuff before all the kids get back. Hope the furniture move went well. That’s nice you received some furniture. I always like hand me downs. ^_^
Happy reading and have a great week!

  2. School just started back here. My son has graduated so nothing much changes except the traffic trying to get to work in the morning. For some reason I like seeing the school buses:) Great bunch of new releases but I’m resisting. I bought too many already and the book budget is lean. It’s nice to hear your family was able to help you. I keep a small notebook to track my bills . It helps to have something right in my hand. Plus, I like lists. LOL

  3. Wow this summer went fast! Back already? Hope all gets off to a good start for the year. And I hear you on staying up late/ napping- if I was left to my own devices I would probably stay up half the night and then sleep all day lol. I’ma total night owl…

I think the last time I moved things around I was sore for days! Yeah what’s up with THAT?

  4. That video was so funny… probably because I feel like I’ve done half of them. Especially walking into walls/tables. All. The. Time. LOL
Going back to work after vacation is always such a huge adjustment – especially with the lack of daily naps. Gah!
We’ll be moving plenty of furniture in a couple weeks when we move… but I’ve hired my nephews to do the heavy lifting. Ha!

  5. I track my finances in a notebook. I had a spreadsheet (the project manager in me) but just found the notebook to work better… Probably because I could carry it around with me, lol.
I’m loving the new releases! Chloe Neill’s Heirs of Chicagoland is high on my want list but I need to finish the Chicagoland Vamps series first.
