What a long week!! Tuesday I got home from work, then had to run back out for a hair appointment. I’m glad to finally have had my hair cut a bit. It was getting unruly. Then Wednesday I had to drive home from work, let the dogs out, then drive back to work for a meeting. Thursday I had to drive home from work, let the dogs out, and drive back to work for parent teacher conferences. By Friday, I was exhausted and tired of driving! Thankfully, work is only 15 minutes away.
Next week we have another night of conferences on Thursday, so I will have to drive home and let the dogs out then drive back again, but that is the only day. I need to get ready for my trip! I leave on 2/17 at 7:00 am. I’m so excited!! I love conferences.
I hate that I have miss a week of work. This is the time of year we call IEP season-almost every kids IEP is due. So, being out for a week is going to put me behind. I also hate being away from the dogs. But, its worth it! I just keep reminding myself that so my panic attacks don’t get too out of control. I am relieved that my hearing aids seem to be working properly. When the charge couldn’t last the day, I was nervous. But, no issues lately, so it seems the repairs did the trick (I mean, they replaced everything internal, so its like getting new aids with the same housing).
I am loving The Pitt on Max! Such a great show! I’m also hooked on The Irrational and Matlock. I’m doing everything I can to avoid the news. The government is just bad right now. A private citizen has been given control over the treasury and the personal information of every American citizen. The president is making crazy moves (taking over Gaza?!?! Making himself the head of the Kennedy Center??). The department of education is on the chopping block now and as an educator, that is scary. I live in a red state, so having the state be responsible for education?? Not good. So, for now, I am trying to dedicate only a portion of time to the news, and not let my brain wallow in it all day.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

I love conferences for my job, the library ones leave me so energized and ready to go back and start putting the ideas I’ve got into place! I hope you get a lot out of the one you go to. I do hate coming home from work and having to go and leave my poor dogs at home alone again. It seems more and more I do that, even now that I don’t have that part time job anymore. I used to do the running home for my dogs with parent conferences, but now that I live 30 minutes away from work, I have to ask my mom or someone to come let them out for me. I hope you have a good week!
I think your conference will be an amazing experience for you, and you get to visit WA. Hope all the conferences go well.
I’m glad you have the conference and hope it will be really fun for you. It’s a great location and you will see friends. I am also horrified by all the things you mentioned about the government.

I hope you enjoy your time at the conference, make sure you take some time for yourself while you are away.
Wishing you a great reading week
I need to take my daughter’s in to get their bangs trimmed. I’m not sure I’m going to keep mine though. I always feel good after a hair appointment.
I FELT that about the IEPs. I taught special education for the last two years and it can be A LOT to stay on top of. Hang in there!
