Non-Bookish News:

Friday night I saw Hamilton! I haven’t listened to any of the music or anything so I went in a bit blind (which I prefer). I really enjoyed it! I’m a history buff, so that appealed to me, but it was also funnier than I expected at times and there were a few tears too. I will say that Eliza Hamilton is a MUCH better person than me because I would NOT have been as kind in my writing of my husband as she was. Seriously, after what he did, my ‘memoir’ of him would have NOT been complementary!

I’m in a huge funk in the rest of my life though. Its the time of year when everyone at work is stressed out, worn down, and short tempered (myself included). Even the students are struggling right now! Our spring break is always connected to Easter, so we have a LONG way to go until spring break. Even my reading has been a challenge lately. Plus we have to change the clocks this weekend and that always makes EVERYONE cranky on Monday.

We haven’t heard about our appraisal yet. The refi company said it takes 7-10 days from the time they do the appraisal for us to hear something so we should hear this week. Fingers crossed!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. hahahaha Samantha I often say it about book characters that they are better persons than I am! Glad you enjoyed Hamilton and hang on tight waiting for your break!

  2. The transition from Winter to spring is always a bit hard. Winter gets people in such a funk and it’s the longest before another break. We are actually going to florida for a break, ours is usually in August so it will be a nice early trip but that means from April until last week of December I wont have a week off, that kind of stinks.
Glad you enjoyed Hamilton, I hope you have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! xx

  3. It was our spring break this week but we stayed home. It was just gray weather 40-50 and felt blah. This week is to be a bit warmer and sunnier so I hope I will feel more energy. Her college gets a few days off for Easter which is right before finals. I had the big haul this week. I hope this week goes well for you!

  4. I saw Hamilton last weekend. I went in blind too and loved it. I laughed and I cried. It’s so good! Hope you get a good appraisal on the house. 2019 has been a challenge in reading for me too. I just am not in the mood for stuff. I’m hoping that spring/summer will help. The start of the year has been cold and very very rainy for months now and I’m just sick of the rain. Have a great week and happy reading!

  5. Good luck with the appraisal! And ugh the time change- I hate it. It always seems to take a week for me to adjust. I have no idea why it takes me so long, but it does lol. I can imagine the students aren’t loving it too.

Hamilton sounds awesome!!! I hope to see it at some point…
