How is it the middle of January already? We have had major rain here. My backyard is inches of standing water. It’s really bad. I’m actually hoping it gets as cold as they say it will so that I won’t have to deal with the water and mud.
Work has been overwhelming. I have so much to do and NO time to do it. There is no relief in sight either, which adds to the stress. I love what I do, it is just too much for one person.
Add to my work stress, my husband has been really sick since before Christmas. The weekend of Christmas he had the flu. He wasn’t feeling great but trying to push through. Then, the Friday before New Years he went to urgent care again because he wasn’t feeling well and they told him he had pneumonia. Then, at the end first week of the new year, he went back to urgent care because he still wasn’t feeling well and he also has bronchitis. He is finally feeling a bit better after a week of more medication, so hopefully we are out of the woods. His blood oxygen was in the 80’s and his blood pressure was high (like 157/105) so we were always on the razors edge of having to go to the ER.
So, things have been wearing me down since the holidays. It has been rough. I’m exhausted and not feeling the best myself. The crazy weather is making my sinuses got nuts and I’m sick of all the rain. But, I got a lot of good books this week. I hope I’m feeling up to reading them.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

Oh no! I hope your husband is continuing to finally get better! That’s got to be a lot of stress. We’ve been getting snow and crazy cold temps here. Don’t know if I’d rather have rain or snow, although with the cold it keeps the dogs from wanting to be outside and getting muddy like they would if it was just wet. Hope you have a better week!
Your poor husband! I feel like everyone had something. My whole family was ill since Christmas and we are just starting to feel better. Sorry to hear work is so stressful. Maybe when the budget comes up for review they may get additional headcount (?)
I hope your husband is better soon! that sounds rough.
I had to laugh at that graphic about bookworms and weather. So true! 🙂
Oh, no. I hope your husband feels so much better soon.
I hope you and your husband feel better soon! Hopefully this week is less stressful for you.
I am sorry it’s been so hard for you Samantha! And many friends in the US complain about that nasty virus affecting the lungs!
oh so I am not the only one dealing with sinus issues? I swear I have had issues since Christmas lol and I just want it to go away. But we get back inversion here in Utah so I wouldn’t be surprised if its causing issues. I hope you enjoy the Bromberg. I am curious to see if she is changing her writing style with the change in covers. Not sure I will keep reading her if she is going that route but hope that ends up being a keeper for you!
I’ve been questioning where the month has gone, it’s flying by. It sounds like you’ve had a lot going on the past few weeks so it’s understandable why the time has flown for you. I hope your husband is on the mend now. I’m sure him being unwell hasn’t helped with your work stress. You sound like you need a break to recover from everything you’ve had going on. I hope you get a bit of time to yourself soon and a chance to read the books you’ve got.
