- I Can’t Even by Lani Lynn Vale
eARCs thanks to the authors and publishers:
I survived the last week of school. Now that I’m not a classroom teacher, the last few days were actually pretty easy! Just cleaning up and finalizing files. Now the summer of doctor appointments begins. Typical for teachers-we can’t really go during the school year, so all my typical visits are in the summer. I turned in my hearing aid to have it shipped back to the manufacturer for repair, I have my endoscopy scheduled for Friday the 14th, and my eye exam on Monday the 17th.
Other than doctor’s visits, I have no plans. Traveling is not a financial option, so I am hoping to make the best of the time at home! However, in order to do that, I need to tackle some home projects. So, that’s the plan. Hopefully I can make some headway.
I’m hopeful we won’t have any vet visits anytime soon. Ranger is due for his annual shots in late summer, but I’m hoping nothing happens before then. I’m working on doing more training with the dogs this summer as well. Sammy and Dean don’t like coming inside and sometimes it requires putting them on a leash to get them back in. We are working on shaping behavior so they come in when told. Anyone who has tried to shape a behavior that goes against a dog’s nature knows how tricky this is. Speaking of dogs, it appears we are winning the rabbit war, but now there is a bird issue. However, that is way easier than the bunnies. The dogs lose the birds pretty quick when they fly away, so its only when one doesn’t get away quick enough that its a problem. At least the problem hasn’t led to escape. Fingers crossed.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
My daughter has read up and watched videos and does all our dog training. But Lulu would never escape because she wants to be with us, all the time. I hope it goes well for you.
We have bunnies but my dogs can’t seem to catch them, even though I know dachshunds were bred to hunt them. More for when they go into their holes in the ground I guess, not necessarily for chasing them down, lol. Half the time the bunnies sit still when my dogs are outside, and my dogs don’t even notice them. yay for the end of the school year! I am doing summer school for the extra money, so can’t get my doctor visits in till July mostly. Also I need to get my dogs into the vet for annual shots, but won’t have time till July probably. I also need to find a new vet closer to where I live. Driving 45 minutes just isn’t feasible and makes me put things off. No matter how much I love one of the vets out there. Hope you enjoy your time off of school!
I hope all the appointments go well and that you enjoy your summer off.
I hope all your appointments will go smoothly Samantha and that you’ll envoy your summer break!
