eARCs thanks to the authors and publishers:

What a long week! I saw my doctor on Tuesday. She agreed to look into perimenopause and ordered some more blood work. I had to go to the outpatient lab to get it done, so I couldn’t do it until Saturday. 2 of the tests already came back. My Estradiol is <20, which is super low and my LH was 8.1-I don’t know what that really means yet. I’m still waiting on FSH results. Hopefully once the other tests come back I will have some answers.
She did give me an inhaler and put me on singular. Hopefully this will help with the coughing/asthma. She also upped one of my other meds to see if that helps. Fingers crossed!
Work was busy. The 1st quarter ended last week so Tuesday was the start of the new quarter. My supervisor came in to observe me. I think it was fine but I haven’t gotten the official report yet. Next week is Halloween, so if you know someone who works in a school, send them wine. With Halloween on a Friday this year, the day will be crazy but at least the sugar crash will happen on the weekend. We have dress up days all week (spirit days) and Friday the kids can wear their costumes and we have a dance. Nothing academic will be getting done that day!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

We have Friday off because we are doing our parent conferences on Wednesday and Thursday, so yay! But yeah, it makes for a crazy day in school when you have Halloween. I hope they figure out your health issues with the bloodwork. I usually have issues with asthma in the winter, and not so much the rest of the year. So I made sure before my doctor left the practice she got me a refill of my emergency inhaler for this winter. I hope your week goes smoothly!
Sounds like you are holding the fort and taking care of business. I hope you have some Friday, some treats not all tricks.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Well I hope you will get some answers Samantha and also…lots of wine on Halloween!
Urg! You end up having to teach through Halloween?? In an unusual fit of common sense, our local authorities arrange it so that half term week always encompasses Halloween so our beknighted teachers don’t have that misery to endure!! I hope your medications help and that the coming week isn’t too much of a nightmare!
I hope you make it through Halloween without any horror stories and that your doctor has some answers for you soon. I had asthma as a kid that came back when I was teaching. I quit, and once I was out of the building, no more inhaler and constant coughing. They do not maintain those buildings well. I hope that isn’t your issue.
I am looking forward to reading Tender Cruelty.
Goodness, the combination of perimenopause and Halloween on a school day could be a horror show waiting to happen LOL
Wishing you calm vibes
