Thankfully, the election is over. Even though it took several days to determine a winner, it is over. I mean, it will be contested for sure, but I think most Americans feel that, whether they voted for Biden or not, he is the winner. I am glad to have the bully out of the White House. It is hard to teach kids not to be jerks when the President of the United States acted like one on a daily basis. Also, super excited to finally have a female VP! Add to that she is a BIPOC as well and its just exciting all around.
Also this past week I had a formal observation by one of my administrators. I don’t know how it went since I haven’t had the post conference yet, but frankly I’m just glad it is over. 14 years of teaching and I still get so nervous about observations.
This week we have parent teacher conferences. That makes for a LONG night on Thursday. Because of COVID, they are all phone conferences at least. We had a few cases recently, so that has been stressing everyone out. I think we all need a break and Thanksgiving feels so far away!
My new OCD meds seem to be effective. I’m still in the transition stage, but I haven’t had any skin picking, obsessive thoughts, or nail biting, despite this past week being stressful. I’m hopeful!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Yeah for seeing some results with your meds. That’s great. Observations were always so stressful. I am sure you did amazing.
Great news on the new meds! And I’m sure you’ll get positive feedback from your observation. I think we’re all relieved to have the election over. What a week it was! And to have a president that is actually worthy of the office. I picked up Runaway Road, too, this week. I love Devney Perry.
Glad the election is finally over, too! I agree, he set a bad example by his behavior and that really doesn’t encourage good behavior from others. Glad to hear your meds are working!
I’ve enjoyed Ruby Dixon and Devney Perry. I’ll have to run and see if those are still free.
Glad the meds are working our for you. I need to up mine a little since I was having unwanted thoughts the other day. Just need to adjust the time I take them to see if that helps.
He is still setting a bad example but I hope he will be gone soon, then we all can sleep soundly.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Samantha! Happy Reading!
Samantha I was so happy for you all! And your observation about teaching kids not to be jerks is absolutely right! That’s what I was wondering too when I watched “him”. I am glad your new medication seems to be helping you too! Have agreat week.
I am going to wait a few weeks before I will say Biden is President because it will probably be settled in the supreme court most likely and if its a contested election….things will get intense LOL I just remember the chaos of 2000. And we didn’t know the outcome till almost Christmas. But I am hoping whoever becomes President, we can rebuild and reconnect as a country. If we can’t do it as American’s than hope is lost right? But it surely was a mess this past week. And even though I didn’t vote for him, if he comes out as our President through our constitutional process, than I will support him as the President even though I will disagree on his policy. Hope good will come out of the next four years.
Lol at the stress eating and reaching 270 first ?! So glad it’s over and incredibly hopeful for what it means for our future. Like you said, a bully in the white house was not healthy for our youth (or anyone). Glad your meds are working out! And good luck on your observation – I’m sure you did well. I know the feeling of being nervous, even when you know you’re doing well.
Observation would make me so self- conscious I’m not even sure how Id effectively teach lol! Good luck with your post obvs meeting. And yes the election is such a load off the mind, even if it’ll probably still be crazy for a while…
I’m so relieved to have the election day over and the result. I’m thrilled to have a woman in the White House also. It’s great you are having a good start with the new meds. I have been trying to remove all the skin from my cuticles these past couple weeks. I hope this week goes well for you. It’s only 2 weeks until Thanksgiving – you can make it! My daughter has the next 2 days off for Veteran’s Day. Since they are also the days of good weather this week, I hope we will be walking both days with Lulu.

Wow! You sure had a busy week! Hope you have a lovely week!
Wonderful news about your meds. My son’s were recently changed and they seem to be working too:) I’m hopeful with the election results. We need a change.
Haha, I love that stress eating meme. I saw it a few days ago and immediately saved it to my computer. I hope your observation went well. Have a good week!
