I’m back! I missed last week because I have been busy. We are still working on things around the house to get it ready for the appraisal. Today I am buying some paint to do some touch ups. I still have lots to do, but I’m doing it in small batches-play a game or read a bit, then clean an area, then repeat. It works best for me. Also, we haven’t had any rain in a month, so my allergies are dangerously bad. So, I’m cleaning with a mask and wearing my glasses not my contacts.

So, we haven’t had any rain and its been in the upper 80’s to low 90’s for several weeks. Riverbeds are dry. Our “grass” is brown and dead, and the leaves are falling off the trees because there is no water and things are just dying. It’s been rough. It is suppose to cool down a bit (low 80’s) and there are a few chances for rain. I’m not getting my hopes up about the rain because there have been chances several times in the last month and it never happens.

Work has been busy as well. So, there is just a lot going on. On top of it, I think I caught a cold or something. I thought it was just allergies, but Friday it seemed worse. I’m hoping it goes away quickly. So, we are just plugging along around here! Nothing super exciting, but I guess that is kind of the theme of adulthood.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. The no rain at all was us in June. We’ve had fairly regular rain since July. And we cooled down in September to 75-80 most days. We are up to almost 90 today with humidity but it’s an outlier. It’s weird because we are south of you. I need to do some yard stuff once it cools down and isn’t raining.
