Non-Bookish News:
I am dog sitting this weekend for our school’s therapy dog, Sisi (she is named after the town of Assisi in Italy). She is still a puppy and gets into EVERYTHING. I forgot how exhausting having a puppy around can be! Holy moly! But isn’t she cute?
Sisi is a trained and licensed therapy dog. She helps comfort students who are anxious, sad, grieving, etc. She also makes everyone happy just by being around. Its hard to be upset when she snuggles. There are 6 of us who are trained handlers. Since Calleigh (my dog) has been through all the training before, working with Sisi was pretty easy for me.
It was my first week of summer break! Sadly, I got an ear infection and had to go to the doctor on Monday. But, with the antibiotics things got better quickly. Saturday I had to administer the ACT. Its boring but its good money so I will take it! Next week is filled with more doctors appointments (eye exam, presurgery physical). I swear, as a teacher, I spend my whole summer at the doctors doing all the appointments!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

Sisi is adorable! My son had a few dogs come to see the kids and one of the was his teachers dog. We originally got our dexter for the kids to help my son and Dexter isn’t trained but he does a good job with my son and is a good snuggler. 🙂
Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!
Puppies can be exhausting. My friend was telling me about how she gets no sleep right now as she is training her new puppy to go outside to do it’s business. Yeah, for summer break! And that video is so fun:)
Well yes Sisi is cute and your schools having therapy dog is brilliant! When I am homeworking my dog lays on a chair next to me and petting her from time to time is better than Xanax! I often wish we could take our pets at work. I bet less people would be stressed, depressed or burned out!
Now sorry to hear about your ear infection I know you already have problems with your earing! Have a great week!
I loved that video with the father and baby….so cute!! When I have kids I am going to do that too. I am sorry to hear that you got an ear infection, those are the worst for sure.
Yes, we are trying to get all my daughter’s appointments in over the summer when she doesn’t have school too. And moving. I hope now you have some time to relax and enjoy too! I need you to read at least one of the ARCs i have over the next few months and put it on the linky for COYER so I can get points for it. lol. I enjoyed the father / baby video too. Have a great week!
Here is my Sunday Post
That man talking to his toddler was FANTASTIC!! Total smile inducing video. I think I watched it 3 times last week. That pretty awesome that your school has a resident therapy dog. Good luck with the training and I hope you are enjoying your vacation.
Aw she is cute! But yeah I’ll bet she’s a handful. 🙂 I think therapy dogs are amazing and do so much good.
The Friend Zone looks fun. 🙂
I’m happy to see Wolf Rain was a hit! I’ve only read Silver Silence, but I really need to read Ocean Light and Wolf Rain. Fix Her Up is one I’m really looking forward to, although Waiting on Tom Hanks wasn’t my cup of tea. I’m curious to see what you thought of that one!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? ?
That clip is adorable, so is the puppy 🙂
Have a great reading week
I retweeted that dad and baby conversation—it brought back such adorable memories for me because my daughter used to do this exact thing. I always swore she knew exactly what her part of the conversation meant, even if I wasn’t so sure.
I love the dad baby video! I’ve seen it everywhere this week and it makes me smile everytime.
