New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh takes us on a new adventure in this next novel of the Psy-Changeling Trinity series…
The end of Silence was supposed to create a better world for future generations. But trust is broken, and the alliance between Psy, Changeling, and human is thin. The problems that led to Silence are back in full force. Because Silence fixed nothing, just hid the problems.
This time, the Psy have to find a real answer to their problems–if one exists. Or their race will soon go extinct in a cascade of violence. The answer begins with an empath who is attuned to monsters–and who is going to charm a wolf into loving her despite his own demons.
I adored Wolf Rain!! Memory is delightfully different and Alexei is a grumpus. Their love story is great on its own, but the story gives you so much more towards the general arc. You get answers about the psy net, the E’s, and a few secrets the Council covered up over the years. Overall, incredible!
Memory is unique and has been held captive because of this. I was enthralled as Singh slowly unraveled Memory’s abilities. Seeing Memory deal with her own feelings of guilt and shame over what her power has been used for was heart breaking. I think I cried for Memory at least 10 different times.
Alexei takes lone wolf and grumpy hero to a new level. He has been through a lot of tough experiences-his father went rogue, then his mother died, then his brother went rogue. He is sure he can NEVER mate because he doesn’t want to put anyone through all this. He fights his connection to Memory but it comes from a place of deep concern. I wanted to just hug him.
What Singh has done best in Wolf Rain is continue to push this world forward. You learn more about the Psy net, more about the E’s, and more about the real danger all the Psy’s are in. After all these books, Singh still manages to stun me with the unique plot turns, remarkable characters, and deep wells of emotion. I LIVE for more Psy Changeling books!
Its also no secret I adore Angela Dawe as a narrator. She is simply fabulous and has brought the entire series to life. I can relisten to these books forever!
