Its been a month since Josiah took what was left of our dying relationship and extinguished its embers. I’ve settled into my job at the Bakery in Dormas, and when I’m not avoiding Jules, I’m stealing moments with Maverick, Cyler, Jacob, Huxley, Patrick, and Kemper.

Theres a subtle shift in the way we see one another now, and I find myself struggling to navigate the lingering heartbreak Josiah left behind while diving into this new and uncertain adventure.

But who has time for love when Emperor Lackley has his fist upon our little Providence? Will I finally feel at home in Dormas? Or will my new family be stolen from me before I’m able to tell them how I feel?

Heart of the Walker by Coralee June is book 2 in the Walker series and must be read in order. Heart starts right after Wings ended. Ash is back in Dormas with the guys (and Jules), still struggling with Josiah’s betrayal and worried about the emperor. The first half of the book is the building relationships between Ash and each of the guys. I really loved the way June wrote it because it felt authentic. The way Ash and the guys get to know each other is much like a typical relationship-they spend time together and share information about their lives. Its all very normal (except for the fact there are 6 guys!).

The end of the book really amps up the danger and drama! Trust me, when you get to the last 75% or so, you will not be able to stop reading. I loved the way Jules steps up and I also really enjoyed Mia and her brother. I think all 3 of them brought a great vibe to story.

Heart ends just as a huge game changer is revealed and I am super excited to continue with the series and see how the guys and Ash handle this major development. If you like dystopian stories like the Hunger Games or Divergent, but wanted the heroine to have ALL the guys, The Walker series is perfect!

Wow, it’s been ages since I’ve read a dystopian book. Thanks for the review, this one sounds good.
