Hunt on Dark Waters has adventure, sexy times, and a unique setting. Evelyn, a witch, falls into another plane and meets Bowen, a pirate. Shenanigans ensue.

I struggled with Evelyn at times. She was sassy, which was okay, but she was also kind of righteous and self centered. She got better as the story went on, but I just never really clicked with her. Bowen, on the other hand, is fantastic! I adored him! There are plenty of side characters as well that help round out the unique setting. The world building is good. Overall, I enjoyed the plot. Until near the end…

So, you know when you realize you are nearing the end of a book and there isn’t enough pages left to really end things? The story will continue in another book, but it will be about different characters. And I feel like there was so much of Evelyn and Bowen still to tell. So, will we see them in future books? Probably, but it won’t be their story so I’m just not sure how I feel about it all.

Hunt on Dark Waters is unique for sure (telekinetic sex, anyone?) with good world building and dynamic characters. The romance is certainly rushed (a bit insta-passion as opposed to insta-love), but there are all kinds of crazy monsters to fight and overall, the pace was fast. There were some times things slowed way down, then jumped into hyper drive again and that was weird. I’m certainly curious enough to keep reading!

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.
