I'm obsessed with the game.
I spend so many hours playing that I dream about dangerous missions on other worlds...and my gorgeous, in-game training partner, Kassius. That is, until I win. I beat the Starfighter Training Academy.
But is it a game? Or alien software designed to recruit new, unsuspecting soldiers for a war in another star system? Because when my hot as heck alien shows up at my workplace demanding I leave Earth and travel to the Vega system? What? When he informs me it's my duty to fight Queen Raya and the Dark Fleet? Claims he wants me as much as I've craved him? Let's just say things get crazy.
Facing the truth is never easy, but when I arrive at the Elite Starfighter base I learn that Kassius cheated the system, hacked into the game, and lied to everyone on two worlds to make me his.
Now who's obsessed?
Starfighter Command is book 2 in the Starfighter Training Academy and I am totally hooked! A video game is used as a training tool to find warriors for an interstellar war. It’s like Star Wars but with hot sex. My nerdy heart has died and I am in heaven.
So, Starfighter Command picks up where The First Starfighter left off, so you must read these in order. I loved that the author didn’t rehash more than necessary and we dive right into the action. Mia is such an interesting character. Her Earth job is in special ops/spy stuff but something happened. Her coworkers don’t trust her and she is a bit doubting of herself. Of course, Kass is perfect! Ok, well he isn’t-I mean, he had to cheat and hack a few times, but he only does it for the good of his planet!
Now, listen, the Velarians are never gonna win this war because they have a serious problem with traitors! Oh my gosh. Also, I can’t imagine being in Mia’s position of having to trust someone whom you only just discovered was real. Oh, and in the middle of a space war in another galaxy. Talk about stress!
In light of all the Ice Planet Barbarian talk on TikTok, Starfighter Command is a delightful addition to your alien romance reads. If you want your aliens to be more humanoid, this series is perfect! I binged both books in 1 sitting and have no regrets.
