Non-Bookish News:

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday it was still in the 90’s. It was miserable. Thursday-Saturday it cooled off again to mid 70’s. Next week, back to mid 80’s. Where the hell is October!?!?

I had some stressful interactions with coworkers this week that threw me off my game. Because of my OCD, I tend to overanalyze everything, I worried about these events WAY too much. It was a struggle.

Someone stole my husband’s debit card info and charged a bunch of stuff to our account. The bank caught it before we did, which is great. They called him right away, then he attempted to call me. It was Saturday and I was napping….So he couldn’t get ahold of me. Whoops! I love my Saturday naps though…

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Looks like you had a great reading month! I really enjoy Tessa Bailey’s books so I will definitely have to add that one to my list…and enter the giveaway! lol Sorry to hear about the stress at your job. I have anxiety issues so I tend to over-analyze things too. Hope things get easier! Sorry to hear about the bank card issues too. That just happened to my husband and I recently and we are just now getting the money back. It was really stressful but it could have been way worse. I’m glad the bank caught it early! Hope you have a great week!

  2. Manage and Grievous are my next reads!! I love J.M. Darhower’s writing. Her latest book, Ghosted, did ROCK my world. I loved it so much. Anyway, I’m SO sorry about the debit card. Did you finally know the thief identity?

  3. Sorry to hear about your stressful coworker interactions. I hate it when I can’t stop thinking about something like that. Reading helps change the channel in my brain. šŸ™‚

I loved Going Dark by Monica McCarty, and Long, Tall Cowboy Christmas! I like Nalini Singh’s Phy-Changeling series better than her Guild Hunter so far, but I’ve only read Archangel’s Viper so far. It was good. Have a great week!

  4. I remember the first time (there have been several) my information was stolen. I felt so violated. At least the fraud department saw the activity and cut the spending spree short. My mother had over $7000 drained from her account before the bank noticed, and it took quite a while to get the money back. Sorry about your work woes. Hope this week is better.

  5. I’ve had my card hacked before, no fun. Luckily I also caught it in time, before they went on a buying spree. So aggravating. And sorry to hear about the co- worker issues. That can be tough. Hope you have a great week ahead, minus the stressful stuff.

  6. I’ve yet to read anything by A.L. Jackson but Show Me the Way has caught my eye. I might be one-clicking that one before the day is done. :). Sorry to hear about the tough incidents with co-workers last week. I do the same thing when that happens – I dwell on it, stress over it, overthink it… long after the other person has probably forgotten all about it. Hope the debit card issue gets resolved quickly. That happened to me last year and it was such a mess. Roughly $1000 ran up very quickly, I had to fill out affidavits, write letters, it was such a pain.

First, thanks for the shout out on your things around the web. You are the bomb!

Second, I haven’t read any of the books you read this week but I’m looking forward to your thoughts on them. Also, that sucks about your husband’s debit card. That’s happened to a few of my family members in the last couple of months and it just really sucks.

I hope you have a better work week than last week at work and I hope that you have the best reading week! Hugs from So Cal!

  8. Wow you’re on a roll with the book reviews Samantha! Lately all I feel like doing is reading all the books instead of reviewing them! I hope the upcoming week isn’t as stressful as this week!

  9. OMG!! That’s sucks on your hub’s card! I’m so glad the bank caught it, though. What a holy pain in the ass, though. That happened to my hubs and he had to do all this paperwork. Stupid people!!!

And I’m sorry about work stressing you out šŸ™ I personally hate confrontations with ANYONE, let alone in a workplace. *hugs* Enjoy the weather!!! Keep escaping to the books šŸ™‚
