This Week’s New Releases:
What I Found Online:
Many of these are very true!
This Week’s Book Haul:
Non-Bookish News:
Overall, it was a fairly low key week. Nothing major, which is always good when you are a teacher. However, it was oddly stressful at times. Just the day to day grind was exhausting. Hopefully next week is better! I am going on a service day trip with my freshmen on Friday. Those days are always great!
The heat here is back. Its been in the upper 80’s and will remain so until the middle of next week. I’m over it. Also, the ragweed is out of control and my sinuses are so inflamed! I can’t wait for it to freeze and kill all this crap!
I’m doing okay with my ARCtober challenge. I finished 2 audio arcs and 2 book arcs! Not too bad for week 1! Next month I am planning to do a series challenge. I want to focus on catching up on some of the epically long series I am only partially through. I am thinking that I might just not join any book tours/release blitzes from PR companies for awhile and focus on the hundreds of books I have already to read. I say that a lot, but this time I think I might actually mean it. I have unsubscribed from most PR emails!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Looks like you had a pretty decent week. Sorry to hear that work has been exhausting…I don’t envy what you do. But it looks like we had some great releases this week. And I am with you on getting away from ARC. I don’t really subscribe to any PR companies any more. Mostly because I have quite a few books on my shelf I need to read.
Day-to-day grind can definitely be stressful for teachers! There is just so much to do! I hope next week will be better, and that the day trip with your freshmen will be fun 🙂
I read Consumed last week and I loved it! The characters were so deliciously flawed 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy your new books – and stay away from blitzes and blogtours! I wish I had the strength to stay away from NetGalley and Edelweiss…
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Sorry that you are exhausted too. I wonder what it is about these days. Good luck with your series challenge next month. I’ve been trying to finish a couple of series too, but so far haven’t been too successful. I need to do better!
Normal weeks are awesome but sorry you had a little bit of stress, that’s never fun.
Weather is so stupid I can’t stand it anymore. Today is so moist everything feels wet in the house. I HATE this weather! lol
Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!
Hahaha you made me laugh with this Funniest Teacher but yes sadly many of the things he said are true! Being a teacher is stressful yet such an important job! I hope next week see you more rested and less stressed <3
Your first week for ARCOctober was dang good! Go you. Wanna trade temps. It is cold and damp here.
Hope this week is better! And heat- ugh. It’s been cooler here but we’re supposed to get back into 80’s next week. In mid- October? I’m not super happy about that lol.
Good luck with the series challenge. I never seem to do well w/ challenges… ::(
We have the same weather and the ragweed is torture for me and my dog. My son is blissfully unaffected. LOL Best of luck with your series challenge. And Better Not Pout sounds perfect for my holiday reading list. I love that title.
That’s great it was a low key week. IT was that way here too. This coming week we have parent teach conferences happening. I’m a little nervous to hear what our teach has to say about our boy and 1st grade. He seams to be happy everyday, so I think schools going well so far.
I know what you mean on PR Tours. I over extended myself in Sept and I’m looking at cutting back the rest of the year. I want to focus on all the books I’ve got either I’ve won them or bought them, but haven’t read them. I did cut back on my ARC requests this year, which is good.
This weekend only the Montgomery Ink Box Set 1 is FREE – https://amzn.to/2C1tvvT & Ghost of a Chance is FREE – https://amzn.to/2BZwkxw
You might like both of them. I grabbed both to try.
I’m kind of over the heat right now! It was like, 92 yesterday!
4 books is pretty good for your first week of ARCober! I’m at two but hopefully will finish another 2 this week.
Wooh! Looks like you had a great reading and reviewing week! I would never be able to manage the same ? Best of luck for ARCtober!
I hope this week is better than the last, and that you enjoy your service trip. This weather is annoying. I want fall to come and stay. Good luck with the shelf love. I always want to read my shelves, but I have no discipline.
Misadventures with a Manny. wheat a great title and I love that cover. Fun video.
yay god bless low key weeks! Sometimes we just need that 🙂 Good luck with the rest of ARCtober challenge!
I hope you have a better week this week. I agree with the ragwood death. I really enjoyed Death is Not Enough by Karen Rose. Anne – Books of My Heart
