My mother tried to destroy me. She doesn't exist to me anymore and my father, the one who raised me and the biological one, are both works in progress. The only two people that I can trust are Mason and Logan, and they're the two people who I could lose. It won't happen. I won't let it. No matter the truth, no matter who loves me, I won't let anything or anyone come between us. They're my world. They're my life. They're my family.

what i think

No one does teenage angst like Tijan and Fallen Fourth Down is no exception. This is book 4 in the series and you do have to read them in order.

So, this book starts with Mason away at college (3 hours away) and Sam and Logan are starting their senior year of high school. So, here are some things going on in Fallen Crest:

Tate told Sam that Logan was in love with her. Sam is totally freaked out and hasn’t said a word to Logan or Mason (Why they HELL would she listen to Tate anyway?)
Logan is still dating Kris. I spent most of the book thinking she had a drinking and/or drug problem. There was just something off about her.
Sam’s biological father moves to Fallen Crest and wants to build a relationship with Sam (even though he totally abandoned her before…)

And, here are the things going on at Cain U:

Mason is living in a house with the other football players and, thankfully, they are not douchebags.
Marissa is at Cain U as well. She seems to show up a lot of places Mason is and is not being shy about wanting his attention.
Nate joined a fraternity. One of his frat brothers is a douche, Mason sees it right away and it causes tension between Nate and Mason.

Ok, all of this leads to the delicious drama that is Fallen Crest. Fallen Fourth Down is exactly what you want and expect from the series and I am super excited to start Fallen Crest University now! And, Logan’s book comes out soon!!!! (I know he doesn’t end up with Heather, but that would be AWESOME! Sigh…)

  • POV:1st dual (more Sam than Mason though)
  • Tears: No
  • Trope: teenage angst, college, love triangle
  • Triggers: None
  • Cliffhanger: ish… the major action of this story is wrapped up but you are left knowing something MAJOR is gonna go down!

where to get it

I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.

Excerpt

Excerpt from Fallen Fourth Down:

“I don’t think Mason likes me.”
We were in the women’s bathroom when Kris shared that with me. She stopped fixing her hair and turned, biting her lip and wringing her hands together. Her puppy-like eyes were fixed on me and it was obvious that her feelings had been hurt. She added, “I haven’t done anything wrong. I don’t think. And I always say hi to him. I try to talk to him, but he just looks at me and then walks away or says something to someone else like I haven’t even spoken. I have no idea what I’ve done wrong.”
Oh boy. “Um.” I had no idea what to say. My boyfriend was known for being an ass at times. “Have you talked to Logan about it?”
She nodded. “Yeah, but he doesn’t say much. He changes the subject or leaves like Mason does.”
She was being frozen out by both of them. That told me there was a reason for Mason’s indifference and Logan knew, but wasn’t going to go against it. There was nothing I could say to make her feel better. “Look,” I patted her arm. “The last girlfriend Logan had really hurt him. She came onto Mason one night and so he might be stand-offish to you because he doesn’t want the same thing to happen again.”
Her eyes lit up with hope. “You think that’s it?”
No, but I wasn’t going to tell her that. If Mason had one inkling she might come onto him, he would share that tidbit with Logan immediately. The only redeeming fact I could think about was that Mason wasn’t being mean. He was just doing nothing with her. I smiled at her. “It’s just the four of us tonight so see how the rest of the evening goes?”
“Yeah, you’re right.” She nodded to herself and turned for the door, squaring her shoulders back like she was going to battle. “Let’s do this.” A determined expression came over her. Her eyebrows bunched forward, her lips pressed together, and she raised her chin up. She was on a mission.
When we went back to the table, Mason and Logan had their heads together. I could see the intensity from them even across the restaurant and when we got closer, they didn’t stop. Logan was saying, “I don’t agree with you. We should call Nate tonight, go over there and deal with this. I’m coming to this same school next year. I don’t want to come in with a battle already.”
Mason flashed him a grin and rubbed my shoulder when I sat next to him. He said to his brother, “We can’t go and bomb their cars. These guys don’t fight like that. The situation isn’t a situation right now.”
“Nate’s friends with him. Not you.”
“Yeah,” Mason sighed. “Look, Nate wanted to expand his network and go his own way in college. Fine by me. When I get pissed, I’ll deal with it. I’m not pissed yet about it.”
“That’s bullshit.”
Mason frowned at him. His eyes narrowed. “What’s up your ass? You’ve been in a mood since you showed up. What the fuck have I done to you?”
“Nothing.” Logan glanced at me. His scowl deepened and he moved his chair back. “I have to go to the bathroom.”
I sucked in my breath. The deeper meaning was there when he looked at me. I sensed Mason’s gaze next and knew he had spotted that. I really didn’t want to deal with this. No, that wasn’t true. I was scared. Mason knew I wasn’t a virgin, but we never went into details. He hadn’t asked and I hadn’t volunteered the information. The only thing he mentioned one night was that he hadn’t been a saint so he didn’t care if I hadn’t either, although I remembered thinking that he knew there was more to my story than I shared with him. He hadn’t pressed and I knew he wouldn’t now either, but I should tell him. It was time.
I nodded to myself, my mind made up that I would come clean this evening. Then Kris spoke up, “Why don’t you like me?” Oh, shit.
