Non-Bookish News:
I had a long, 4 day weekend and I am thrilled! I took a personal day on Friday, and Monday is a holiday here in the US (Martin Luther King, Jr Day). Its crazy to think I needed a break already after just coming back from Christmas, but things have been crazy. There has been a lot going on at work and everything seems to need to be handled right away. Its exhausting.
We spent the week planning for snowmageddon. At one point they were saying 6-8 in. Turns out, we got rain. But, I know the north east is suppose to get heavy snow, so if you live in that area, stay safe! Our previous snow has melted, and combined with this rain, my back yard is actually just a shallow lake. There is maybe 5 feet of area that isn’t standing water. We have always had an issue with parts of the yard not draining well, but this is just out of control.
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

Yeah the weather has been really weird here too, the mountains are getting lots of snow, but we are getting snow rain which is really not fun to walk or drive in. Hope you are enjoying your long weekend!!!
Samantha I know about the feeling of being relieved when you have another long weekend even if you are just back from holiday! Same here. As far as weather goes we are still waiting for some snow in my country and it’s beenunseasonably warm so far! Enjoy your Monday.
Ew. Sorry about the rain. It sounds like most people didn’t get near what they were expecting. I hope you enjoy your really long weekend. I’m off tomorrow as well and quite happy about it!
I love that video!! “She sparks more joy than Marie Kondo” lololol
We got rain, but the temps are supposed to go down to 16 tonight here in NC. Ugh. That gymnast is something else! Wow!
*high five* We also ended up with only rain, and I am really happy about that. I hate the white stuff. I would like it to be a little warmer, but I won’t push my luck. I hope you enjoyed/enjoy your loooong weekend. I am overjoyed to have tomorrow off. We have been really busy at work and have not been fully staffed since well before Christmas, maybe even since before Thanksgiving.
I love all the school holidays now, but when my daughter was in school and I worked corporate, my next holiday would be Memorial Day. I’d have to figure out care or take vacations for MLK, Presidents, conferences, spring break, Easter, etc. But I am having a 4 day weekend this weekend now. Her next class is Wednesday. It’s bitter cold for us only 15 tonight but back to 60 by Wednesday.
I’m also reviewing Playing for Keeps and Shattered Vows. Now through to Valentine’s Day are so many awesome romances. Enjoy your days off and your reads!
This weekend storm was annoying. I was really planning for it and it was way too warm and rained also. We just have to worry about the ice now however a lot of stuff isn’t wet anymore so it was all good.
Enjoy your day off, I wish I would have taken Monday but I figured I need to save my days.
I hope you have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! xx
We’ve been having lots of rain and more rain is predicted. I forgot their is no school on Monday until I read your post then I went oh ya it’s a three day weekend for us. ^_^ Have a great week and happy reading!
Fun videos! We got some of the cold temps here but no rain or snow. It’s been a tough winter already. Enjoy those new reads and stay warm:)
First off I love and I mean LOVE Chris Farley. It’s a shame he passed away so young. Also, great books this week and I picked up that freebie. I need to stop doing that but can’t seem to help myself. Have a wonderful week!
Mary
Ahhh a four day weekend sounds perfect around now, I feel like I need a break too, even though I only just went back after Christmas too, I hope you have a great week 🙂
