This week I had training on a literary program for 2 days, and then conferences on Thursday evening. It was phone conferences since COVID cases are up, and we literally had NO conferences. So my coteacher and I just sat there for 4 hours. We had a good chat, but both of us would have rather been at home!

Saturdays have been for napping the last few weeks. Teaching is tiring, but this year seems especially so. I spend a large chunk of every Saturday napping. I go to bed every night during the week by 9 pm. Sometimes I nap between 5-6 pm on the weekdays too. I don’t know if its being at a new school, dealing with COVID, or just getting older, but I am spending a lot of time sleeping and its kind of concerning.

A coworker called in sick on Friday due to a horrible headache. About 1/2 way through the day on Friday, I was struck with a horrible headache. Nothing was helping. It didn’t go away until late Saturday evening. I’m not sure if it was related to my coworkers headache, but if so, I understand why it made her puke! Dave even said he had a terrible headache Saturday morning and nothing was helping him. He never gets headaches.

And OMG I have got to get back into a diet/exercise routine. The only good thing about wearing a face mask is it hides my chins! UGH!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Moving to a new school and having a new prep is almost like being a first year teacher again, which is so tiring. It’s good you are resting especially with so many viruses out there your body needs to combat. At least there is a short breaking coming soon.

  2. Did you say you started new medicine? Cause that could cause you to getting very tired. For a while my meds were making me so tired I was barely awake half the time until I adjusted the dose and micro managed it. So instead of taking one big dose I split it up. Now sure if that is your case but just a thought. Also something in Apples help with fatigue. I read that some place and have tried it. It does work.
That’s all the medical advise I have for today lol.
Naps are also good and totally needed sometimes so nap away!

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading! xx

  3. The first year in a new school is always exhausting – teaching is tiring anyway – and now I’m guessing that teaching with COVID 19 a constant in the background must be shattering. No wonder you need so much sleep. My eldest grandson has now 3 of his teachers off sick with COVID… I hope you have an easier week, Samantha!

  4. Love all the topics are your blog including what you found online.I love examining relationships and identity in books. This is my first time visiting your blog and it looks great! @theglobaldig.blogspot.com

  5. New things take a lot of energy and adjustment. If you need to nap, nap. I feel better when I have some activity but sometimes I don’t want to do it. I’ve been ok on activity but horrible in my diet. I’ve gained weight this year. Time change/ season change maybe affects the headache? Well I hope you have a better week feeling well and staying well! Enjoy some of your new reads

  6. Sorry about the headache and you being so tired Samantha! I am always tired in November that’s why I take some time off work. I hope it gets easier for you! Hugs.

  7. Aw that would be frustrating about the conferences! Covid has upended so many things *sigh*

I’ve heard a lot of people say that about sleeping so you’re not alone. Although I know what you mean- sometimes I want to sleep all the time lol. It is weird!

Hope you have a great week. 🙂

  8. With the way this year is going I’d say the sleeping is to with the stress of the year. Try not to worry too much over it and as long as you’re managing to get everything you need to done then the naps are just a bonus, I wish I had time for naps through my day. Glad you’re headache went away but how strange it struck three of year so close together, it’s a strange one. I’ve never heard of headaches being catching but who knows at this point.
