My students are reading Fahrenheit 451 right now! And I totally sent the Homeschool one to my kids parents! I know they are struggling!

This week was our first week on online teaching! Honestly, I think it went pretty well. I checked in via email with my kids each morning, they emailed me if they needed help with something, I’d make a video to explain it, and we got through it. Personally, the whole social distancing and stay home mandate is my dream. I have ALWAYS wanted a work from home job. So, I’m kind living the dream right now.
Do you know anyone who has gotten Covid-19? So far there are only a handful of cases in Cincinnati. My husband is still working so I am worried he might get sick. He also does not do well with social distancing. For example, Shipt orders are now left on your porch so there is no contact. He went out and unloaded the groceries from the guys car. He literally can’t social distance.
I’ve already run out of things to binge while I work. I’m rewatching The Office for like the 10th time. But, great news-the new Animal Crossing game released Friday! I’m loving it!!! I have been a fan of this game since the original (was it on the cube or wii? I think it was cube!)
The weather was really nice on Friday-70 degrees! Sadly, we have gotten so much rain lately that everything is flooded. Several bridges washed out and in Indiana, 5 people died! Seriously, the world is a super scary place right now.
How is everything going in your world? Quarantine? Working from home? Living your best life? Sick as a dog? Share with us so we can be safely social and supportive! Are you one of the essential personnel like grocery workers, truck drivers, nurses, doctors, or other medical professionals? If so, I super appreciate you! I know how awful it is right now, and I know that a LOT of people aren’t treating you well. Social distance hugs!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

That homeschooling meme is great. I’ve seen several good ones lately about fire drills and recess ?. I’m at home and the stress is real, especially since my husband still has to work. I think now is a really bad time to have an infant…
Elbow hugs! Stay safe.
I can’t imagine trying to work from home AND take care of a child. I’m struggling with just the dogs!
The Thoughts of a Dog was the best! LOve it!!! I regret not getting a new job sooner, because, like you, my dream is to work from home. I don’t really like to go out or “people”. I am *thic* close to buying a switch. I just know I don’t have time to really play, no matter how much I adore Animal Crossing. I wish I could just borrow my daughter’s old DS and the game. I played on the Wii A LOT back in the day. I had a book to keep track of all the things I needed to get, and I did get them all. My co-worker’s grandson tested positive, and we had one case (that we know of) on my work campus. Too close to home for me. Be well and I hope you and yours stay safe and healthy
I am realizing now that Animal Crossing is a HUGE time suck. I don’t even realize HOURS have passed.
I am happy that you are living your dream Samantha LOL Here it’s only our first week so far so good as we are allowed to go out for a walk or a run but alone. As long as I can do this, I am ok. I fear stronger measures though. Stay safe and enjoy your reads and lack of social interaction LOL
We like being home. This week was spring break so we just slept more. I hope we do more this week with my daughter’s online classes and all happening. I was kind of unfocused and a very moody reader so I hope to get over that too. I want The Silent Wife but will wait for the audio I think. I love the Will Trent series!
Have a healthy week and enjoy some great reads!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Our spring break isn’t until Easter so we still have 3 more weeks! But, thankfully, whether we are back in school or not, we will get our spring break.
I am also working from home, but my job is to interact with people over the phone, so it really hasn’t changed much. This was our first week and it was weird the first couple of days with some technical issues here and there, but now things appear to be running smoothly.
We are not currently on a stay-at-home order in Oregon yet, but they figure one is coming soon. Almost everything is closed and I am only leaving the house to do grocery shopping as we live outside the delivery areas.
So far, no one I know directly has presented any symptoms or been tested, but more and more people that I know are having family members or friends affected, so it definitely feels like it’s starting to hit closer to home. The county I work in has a handful of confirmed cases, but they are waiting for test results on hundreds more. The county I live in only has 1 confirmed case so far, but also hundreds of tests that are still waiting for results. I think we’re going to see the numbers increase a lot before they start to improve again.
Our governor just upped the ante-shelter in place. Only essential personnel permitted to work and only trips to the grocery and doctors offices are permitted.
I think book lovers don’t mind the social distancing as much as other people. I think we all love to stay at home and read, lol! I’d love to work from home, but sadly I can’t do my job at home since I do cardiac ultrasound at a hospital. It is scary times for sure! Stay safe and enjoy homeschooling! 🙂
Yeah that is certainly not a job you can do from home!
I love working from home but I know not everyone does. For me it can stay this way lol, especially until this thing calms down. I wish n one had to go out and risk getting it. But social distancing is hard for some people, for sure, so I know it’s no picnic for them.
That dystopia graphic thing with all the movies crcked me up. Logan’s Run, Soylent Green etc lol. Who knew a few weeks ago we’d be LIVING a dystopia??
Take care this week and be well!
Yeah, one of my coworkers is struggling with the social distancing so much!! She keeps sending me texts of all the random things she is doing to keep herself busy and she is running out of ideas.
I just bought The Thoughts Of A dog and am saving for when we might get quarantined. Right now, I’m still working. They now found a case in my town and a co worker is getting tested tomorrow. She found out today she has pneumonia. I’m really worried for her. For everyone.
Glad you’re enjoying the home time! We’d be doing better if my husband wasn’t working from home too. He thinks he should micro-manage the whole house. Big NOPE, pal. I’ve got lots of reading to do, so I choose that instead of someone else’s priority projects 🙂 My kids start some online lessons in a couple weeks – so far we all just get to read! Yay!
The thoughts of dog made me laugh. My team has a WhatsApp group for keeping each other sane during lockdown and it mostly consists of cat and dog pictures, lol.
I’m now WFH and so is my husband. He was originally on the critical workers list but once the government issued the shutdown order (on Monday) he was told to stay home for now like everyone else. He’ll probably have to get back to work before everyone else does (for example I’m likely home for the next 3 weeks) but I’m glad he’s at least home for now!
