It was a busy week! Monday I had blood work, Tuesday I attended a retirement party for a coworker, and Wednesday I got new hearing aids round 2. Bloodwork went fine and everything came back normal. I have a telehealth appointment with my endocrinologist this week to review the bloodwork and my medications. Since everything came back normal, we probably won’t make any changes so it should be a quick appointment! I’m just glad I don’t have to drive the 90 min to the office!
Tuesday I went to the retirement party of a (former) coworker. It was nice to see some people who left years ago and catch back up. It was weird though because we were all distancing and conversations felt stilted. It ended up being all of us who left the school at one table, and those still working at the school at another. Awkward. However, I loved seeing my fellow special ed teachers again (we have been texting non stop so it was just good to see their faces) and to catch up with a counselor who left last year that I hadn’t spoken to.
My new hearing aids were in and I got them on Wednesday. So far, so good. They have NONE of the bells and whistles, but I’m okay with that. I need to get them adjusted for sure though because my right ear sounds ‘less’ than my left. It feels unbalanced. But those are easy fixes!
I have a cold or sinus infection. My head is so stuffy, my ears are clogged, my head hurts, I’m dizzy…its just miserable. And, its not like going to the doctor right now is an option and honestly, there isn’t anything they can do. So, I’m just chilling in bed watching The Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. I love the show-funny and topical. Also, still binging The Big Bang theory as well. I always loved that show and it never fails to make me laugh! And of course, Hamilton on Disney +. I saw the show before, but its nice to watch it with captions!!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Glad you enjoyed catching up with old friends (even if it was a bit awkward), and fingers crossed the hearing aids work out this time. I wonder if doctors will keep the teledoc thing in place when this is all over? It really is a lot easier, if all you are doing is talking about results. Hope whatever you have passes quickly. I am not at the point of infection, but so stuffy! Doing all sorts of OTC and homeopathic stuff so it doesn’t turn into an infection.
It’s great you were able to get so much accomplished and have some social time. It is so hot and I’m glad to say I got the HVAC on Friday. No book haul? Well I have plenty without a haul, and I’m sure you have something to read! Enjoy.
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Glad to hear your new hearing aids are working out and only need minor adjustments. Nice to catch up with old friends. Love The Big Bang Theory. It’s one you can watch over and over. Happy reading, Sam!
Yay, glad the new hearing aids are better. Sounds like you had a good week aside from the cold. I feel you, I developed something over the weekend and hope it passes quickly.
Have a good week!
That bear video cracked me up! Helpful fellow! 🙂
Glad your tests came back well. And yay for the hearing aids. Hope they work well for you going forward.
Hope you feel better!
I hope you feel better soon! A social distance party would be awkward for sure. Have a great week!
Glad the new hearing aids are a better fit for you. Sometimes new isn’t always improved and all the special stuff isn’t really needed (or wanted). Sims infections are so miserable. I hope you feel better this week!
Thanks!
Ha damn sims infestions are the worst! Glad to hear that you had a great time catching up with your colleagues! I find these things currently so stressful as you never know what’s safe or not! have a great week.
I think my life has become one giant anxiety ball. Everything makes me stressed!
Ugh colds are miserable, I hope you feel better soon.
Wishing you a great reading week
I haven’t had time to watch Hamilton on Disney+ yet but I’m curious as to what the fuss is about so I definitely will at some point soon.
Glad the new hearing aids are working well and that your blood work is good! I wouldn’t be enthused about a 90min drive at the moment either.
It sounds like you had a busy week, I hope you feel better soon, sinus infections are the worst.
Have a good week.
