Hard to Fall is part of the Take the Fall series that I adore so much! We met the hero and heroine in the previous book. Saylor is super quirky. She has the most awkward social skills ever! Hayden is just the opposite. Having grown up in the public eye with a senator father, he has developed a great mask of social skills. Hayden isn’t deterred by the quirkiness of Saylor but quickly hurts her feelings. He is too drunk to even remember an encounter that would have hurt her, which hurts her even more.

I think Saylor might be too weird for some people. She takes the quirkiness to a whole new level. At times I found myself feeling awkward for her. It was slightly uncomfortable in the beginning. However, I will say she grew on me; even Hayden starts to realize the reason for her extra quirk. Its easy to see why she is the way she is, so its easy to empathize. Hayden is kind of a douche and a playboy in the beginning but thankfully that doesn’t last long. He quickly becomes easy to love! I love Valentine’s heroes! They are so well written: not alphaholes yet still alpha. And super swoony!

Hard to Fall is one of those difficult to categorize stories. It doesn’t really follow any specific trope or path because it crosses so many! Dirty politicians, secret marriage, nerdy girl, fireman…its all that and then even a few more surprises. I enjoyed every chapter!
